Yes, fat is satisfying. And in the quantities used by the average western diet consumer, it has been proven harmful to human health, most notably, diabetes and heart disease.

Table sugar is implicated in other human diseases and conditions, but for other reasons.

That’s a fact, not an opinion, supported by all clinical and epidemiological data.

That same data shows conclusively that unrefined starch based/plant based diets are proven clinically to promote optimal human health.

There is plenty of clinical data that has been manipulated .Maybe that data was sponsored by certain food companies
I eat so much fat and little carbs and no sugar . My triglycerides are 35 , my HDL is 100 and I am slim and trim. That was not the case when I was on the terrible low fat diet .
Again just watch a movie from the 60ies and you will see the difference in people’s appearance ! It is stunning.

I think it’s too much oil for my taste. Maybe I should cut it down to 1 cup.

Bob, it is you that has it backwards ! It is grains and sugar that is killing Americans, not fat !

http://youtu.be/da1vvigy5tQ This is a link to a Ted Video on YouTube by Dr. Sarah Hallberg. Her patients are losing weight and getting off high blood pressure and diabetes medications by eliminating carbs from their diets. You are replacing simple carbs with fat. Fat keeps you full longer.
