Hey I made this in a four side jar and what I found was you need roasted almonds because they have extra oil. If you use raw or probably dry roasted you need to add oil (peanut oil or whatever you prefer) and also almond milk won’t hurt. It has to get to a certain oil/almond meat ratio to cycle properly. Otherwise it will be way too thick for blending and also too thick to spread anyhow. I used raw nuts and what happened to me was it got so thick that there was an air pocket at the bottom. The mixture was sticking to the side walls and not moving down so that’s where the problem is.

we bought a Blendtec blender from Sams Club and the first time trying to make almond butter it ruined the jar and water would leak out the bottom. We got a new jar and I am worried to try this recipe again for fear of burning it up again. Any suggestions? When we made it it seem to make a very loud rumbling sound that did not seem normal.

Hi – I’m wondering if I can substitute Stevia for the granulated sugar? If so, do you know how much?

    A few tips:
    1. Before loading your jar each time, spin the drive shaft on the bottom of the jar for a
few seconds. This will help keep the seal in good shape and prolong the life of
the jar. If the shaft does not spin freely, add some hot water to the jar, then
twist the shaft by hand until it begins to spin freely.

    2. Make sure you use roasted almonds. This makes a huge difference!
    3. If you’re making it in a FourSide or WildSide+ jar, you’ll have to stop blending and scrape the sides of the jar back down to the blade several times.
    Happy blending!

You can. You’ll want to check what the conversion is for the specific Stevia you’re using. It should be just under 4 tsp for this recipe.
