Rated 4 out of 5 by RebD from Luv my Blender, disappointed in the leaking gasket Ive not quite has this a year and the black gasket to my wildside jar started shredding - we'd see little black shreds on the base when we removed the jar- now the gasket leaks any liquid we put in. Im really disappointed and hope I can have the jar replaced since we dont use it daily but its a great product and the jars are awfully expensive if the gasket is going to shred and wiggle the blade and leak. I thought my kids did it so blamed them, but in the Q&A section here, I see its not an isolated situation. I hope we can get this resolved so I can go back to loving my blender!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dennis Donnelly from Cheap pitcher on otherwise great blender I bought this blender just over a year ago and was initially well pleased. It blends frozen food and raw food VERY well to almost baby food smoothness if desired. I make smoothies with it every day. However, the wonderful performance is shattered about every 6 months because the pitcher base burns up and breaks. This seems a common problem which leads me to wonder WHY doesn't Blendtec improve the design?? The contrast between the engineering excellence of the base and the weakness of the pitcher is hard to overstate. I have to order my 3rd pitcher...sigh. I'm thinking I may ebay this thing and get a Vitamix so I don't have to pay an extra $200/year for pitchers. Sooooo frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by scout from Blendtec honors their warranty I abuse my blender daily with frozen fruits, and the jar failed after having it for about 7 months. I got a new one in 3 days w/ no hassle after emailing customer service about it. Realistically, no blender jar's blade assembly is going to last years with daily use (I bought the blender expecting to need warranty replacements for the jar, since there's no chance it's going to last 7 years with daily use), so as long as blendtec keeps sending me new jars when they wear out for the duration of the warranty, I'm satisfied. The jar sounds different when it's starting to wear out, so when this happens get in touch w/ customer service so you can get a new one shipped out to you before the old one completely breaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rugger from Outstanding! I got the Wildside as a replacement for the original jar that I flat wore out. This jar is terrific -- it is quieter than the standard jar when I make my smoothies which are very heavy on the ice. It also blends the contents quicker than the original jar and has a lower profile. Also easier to clean than the original jar because the base is wider and I can get a cleaning brush down there very easily. Awesome jar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by dtee from Shredded plastic gets into the jar I've been using this jar for about 2 years now for several blends. I recently noticed smoke coming out of the blender on my last blend and there were also several plastic chunks inside the smoothie I was making. It appears that the black ring/gasket around the blade was being shredded. I can understand that a jar would have some lifetime after which it must be replaced but this is a terrible way for it to happen.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Oak Street Natural Market from Jars are terrible I bought a Blentec a little over a two years ago for my business. I have a health food store and we wanted to offer smoothies. We don't do very many a day, on average about 5-6 but we have went through many jars. Some under the year warranty, some out, which means we are buying another $100 jar. I've been told it could be over use and when I explain we don't use it very much then I've been told it could be under use. I've been told to spin the blades before use, not to push down on the jar while blending, etc. It basically comes down to a very poor design for an expensive product. I purchased a commercial Vitamix before the Blentec and used that until we decided we would like the wider jar and I now use the Vitamix at home everyday going on three years and have never had an issue with the jar. I would not purchase again, I regret that I did so in the first place and would not recommend to anyone, for commercial or residential use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mj62 from hardly used only for smoothies. $100 (+) for a plastic jar. In add'n. to the $400 (+/-) for the unit originally? I bought 2, one for my mother. If you enjoy shredded rubber in your smoothie, go for it. I've never used this blender for anything but smoothies or an occassional malt. Rubber started to deteriorate, then completely shredded inside and outside the jar. This should be a once in a lifetime purchase for this price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by val1 from Great blender, too bad the jar's gasket has broken I bought this 10 months ago and now the jar leaks and gasket is going. I've used it to make smoothies only - about 2 a week over those 10 months. Don't want to spend $100 for a replacement jar if it will break down too. Really disappointed and unsure what to do.

Are the jars microwave safe? Sometimes I find I need to soften frozen fruit to avoid watering down the mixture too much otherwise the blade creates an air pocket. if it is microwave safe it would save a step and a dirty dish when defrosting fruit.
No you cannot put this jar in the microwave. You can add more liquid when you are blending frozen fruit and it should blender without any trouble. Please call customer service at 800.745.5400 with further questions.

Is safe if I make the hot soup with the jar?
You can make hot soup in the jar, but you need to start with nothing hotter than hot tap water. The friction of the blade will heat up the soup. Never put anything in the jar hotter than hot tap water.

Hi there. My blendtech is leaking at the gasket on the bottom which I see is a common problem. Do you have glass replacement jars? Seems a waste to replace the entire blender. I have the "wild side" plastic jar.
We do not have glass jars, only plastic. If you reach out to customer service they can check your warranty and give you options for replacement. 1-800-748-5400

What is the maximum liquid volume that can be blended at one time - 5 cups? 6 cups?
It depends on what your blending, if its a thicker drink or not, about 40 oz would be suggested.
