Carmen Estes – I am at a loss as to why you advise not drinking smoothies as a treat but only as a treatment? Smoothies can definitely be enjoyed as a treat – especially if they are replacing a poor quality milkshake…or candy bar…or cupcake…or soda…or etc, etc. Drinking smoothies are the best of both worlds – treat AND treatment!

We always add half a lemon or lime to our smoothies,to make them more tolerable. Everything has to be organic or you are tasting and drinking pesticide. We use the entire part of the lemon or lime and apple, skin seeds and all. We do not drink these for a treat, we tolerate them and drink them for treatment! We drink one quart daily. I get it down quick. It has kept me alive since 2009. Remember it is not a tastebud treat but a treatment, it is a treat for your body

I’m new to blendtec world. just got my blender last week. I do not have wild side jar, just the classic jar. is that a problem?

Yes, you can use the FourSide jar. The recipe makes a bit more than the maximum recommended volume of the FourSide jar, however, so you may want to reduce the ingredients a little. (It’s only over by 4 fl oz).

You can use another cup of spinach in place of the kale or omit it altogether.
