  • We always add half a lemon or lime to our smoothies,to make them more tolerable. Everything has to be organic or you are tasting and drinking pesticide. We use the entire part of the lemon or lime and apple, skin seeds and all. We do not drink these for a treat, we tolerate them and drink them for treatment! We drink one quart daily. I get it down quick. It has kept me alive since 2009. Remember it is not a tastebud treat but a treatment, it is a treat for your body

  • I’m new to blendtec world. just got my blender last week. I do not have wild side jar, just the classic jar. is that a problem?

    Laurie Weisman on

  • You can use another cup of spinach in place of the kale or omit it altogether.

    Blendtec on

  • Yes, you can use the FourSide jar. The recipe makes a bit more than the maximum recommended volume of the FourSide jar, however, so you may want to reduce the ingredients a little. (It’s only over by 4 fl oz).

  • Why did u say it has kept u alive?

  • Apple seeds have strychnine on them

  • Yes, everyone has food they don’t like. Just switch it with another ingredient. That doesn’t make the recipe void of nutrients.

  • You are not "tasting pesticides" if you don’t use organic produce. I use organics, but many people can not afford to. When I have to not use organic produce, there is almost no difference in the taste. And if there was, it is definitely not that they are "tasting pesticides."
Telling the fallacy that if you do not use "organic produce" you are drinking pesticides, will turn people away from healthy eating if they can’t afford "organic produce."
This type of incorrect information is more detrimental to peoples health than whether they use organic or non-organic produce. People are always looking for a way to not eat healthy, and you are giving it to them. "I can’t afford organic produce, and I read where this woman said that unless it is organic it is pesticides, so why would I eat produce?"
Please stop spreading this incorrect information.

  • BTW research on eating apple seeds , definitely not good .

  • Because I eat healthy all the way, My overall food is much less expensive than my friends and associates simply because I do not eat junk and my meals are simple. I shop for reasonably priced organic food. It is not that much more in price. Organic also helps me to be more assured that I am not getting GMO food. GMO foods are extremely unhealthy.Once you get accustomed to quality and organic, you can taste the difference. Research, experiment, and test for 20 years, then come back and we can talk.

  • I’m pretty well beyond the 20 years. I don’t have any idea why you would assume that I’m not. Vegan, vegetarian, or pescatarian for many of those years. However, unlike yourself, I don’t consider my specific diet as the only diet people can have. It sounds like you have no idea what it is like to be poor. Many people can not afford to feed their family organic foods. Just because you can, does not mean ever family can. So when people like you state things like non-organics are like "eating pesticides," those people will not see a benefit in eating produce. Do you even have any idea what it would cost to feed a family of 4 all organic foods? Or are you basing food prices on a couple of retirees that "eat healthy all the way"? I don’t even know how "eating healthy all the way" makes it any cheaper than not eating healthy all the way, since most unhealthy foods are cheaper than healthy foods. It costs much less to make hamburger helper than it does to make an organic vegetable casserole. If you don’t think that is the case, then you are really don’t have any idea what you are talking about.
All I was asking was to stop spreading disinformation. You aren’t doing anyone a service by saying things that are completely false, like "Everything has to be organic or you are tasting and drinking pesticide." That is completely false. You do know that many organic farms use pesticides right?
    http://blogs.scientificamer…
"GMO foods are extremely unhealthy." Again. Completely false. Simply the fact that you lump all Genetically Modified Organisms as one entity shows that you really don’t have any idea what you are talking about. You are just reiterating information you have found on the internet.
"“We have not fed a group of humans GMO foods for their whole lives, and another group non-GMO foods for their whole lives, with sufficient numbers to determine statistically whether the two groups are different in their health status or development of illness,” says Martha Grout, M.D., President-Elect of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine.""
I am not for GMO foods and Non-organic foods. However I am against disinformation. We know you are great and all, but based on your somewhat nonsensical opinions, you are definitely not the authority on agriculture.

  • Can you tell me if the color will be light green like your photo when it’s made ? I’ve made some green smoothies before and it turns to a not too appetizing dark green. Thanks

  • Healthy tastes good to me. When combine the right veggies and fruit you get a yummy, healthy drink.

  • I like blending kale, fruit with protein powder. Taste great, just don’t look at the color. You won’t want to drink it.

  • The color shown here is exactly what we got from this recipe. Happy blending!

  • Try Red Russian Kale it has a sweet aftertaste when juiced. I was pleasantly surprised.

  • Use spinach. Taste better.

  • Thank you for posting this. So much misinformation spread because people can’t be bothered to research their beliefs.
