This recipe calls for sprouted beans which should take care of the phytates.

Made recipe exactly as written. It was bland and it did not taste like any tomato soup I’ve ever consumed. Frankly, Campbell’s Condensed Healthy Recipe Soup is better. I added some tomato paste and salt to your recipe and that helped. This was the first Blendtec recipe that was way below average. Would not try this recipe again.

When I read the reviews of a recipie, I look to see how everyone found it and what modifications people made. I can choose what i healthy for me or not. This food fight detracts from the reviews.

Id like to use fresh tomatoes. Would I need to cook them first?

I can tomatoes using the blentec to puree the tomatoes which I can use in soups, sauces etc. I recommend blanching and pealing the tomatoes before putting them in the blentec. I tried it with the skins on for just a few of the tomatoes. The skins were lumpy after blending because of their thickness. I love my blentec and use it regularly for different things such as grinding wheat, smoothies etc. After reading the reviews I believe I will look for another recipe for this soup.
