Acai is insanely healthy and I cut dairy out of my diet ages ago, but with a few alterations I cannot wait to try this recipe!
I thought Acai berries lost most of there antioxident properties shortly after being picked. Freezing will not maintaiin the healthy antioxidents.
Looks like an awesome recipe.
I think they do disintegrate quickly, which is why you have to eat them fresh right away. But If they are processed correctly, they should be still very beneficial. Fresh is not an option except for those in Brazil, so we have to do the next best thing. Still packs quite an antioxidant punch with blueberries and pomegranate added.
I like the interesting flavor that acai gives. I use my favorite almond milk instead of the yogurt in this recipe…. because I am vegan. For vegan smoothie recipes, visit www.healthysmoothies101.com
are you beets cooked or raw?
