The Purpose of the Cycle Counter

Posted by Mary Butler on

When Blendtec first went into the blender business, we only made commercial blenders. At that time, the warranty for our commercial machines was for either the number of years after purchase or the total number of blend cycles, whichever came first—similar to a car warranty that covers either so many years or so many miles, whichever comes first. (On a related note, Blendtec recently became the only manufacturer to offer a 3-year warranty on its top commercial blenders, regardless of blend cycle count. Read about it here.)
the purpose of the cycle counter

Cycle Counter Display on Blendtec Blender When we responded to the demand for a consumer version of our groundbreaking machine, we adapted the blender accordingly. One thing we altered was the control pad, making it more intuitive and user-friendly. The design retained the cycle count display, which ended up being a very popular feature for our home users. For many, it became a matter of pride as their blenders achieved hundreds and thousands of blend cycles, validating their decision to purchase the world's best-built blender. Just remember: The warranties on our home machines do not have a cycle restriction on them, so blend to your heart's content! How many blend cycles has your Blendtec blender achieved?

  • It is likely that Costco accidentally stocked a return. Please take it back to them and get a new one or give our customer service team a call at 1-800-748-5400.

  • I bought a new, not refurbished, designer series from Costco. Received it yesterday. Plugged in the machine and saw that the machine already has 103 cycle counts on it. Have I just paid the full price for a recertified machine?

    Emily on

  • Strange! I haven’t heard of that happening but you can call our customer service team and talk to them about it if you’d like: 1-800-748-5400.

  • Hello,

My family and I are new to the family. We just purchased the Blentec 570 Classic series from Costco. Yay!

We wanted to know how we could reset the counter for this model as we would like to do do this on a yearly basis.

  • Welcome to the family! We hope you enjoy your blending experience, and are available to help whenever you need it. There is no way for you to reset the cycle count on the machine.

  • I got 1,000 cycles in 2 months. So satisfied, got to show off at a birthday party. Everyone loved it!
I really hope that the cycles will not count toward my warranty.

Sometimes I just press the smoothie button with no jar on.
My family says it sounds annoying, but I love the powerful sound from the motor. That’s why my cycles are so high.

  • Seems my kid just sat pushing the bottom row buttons and then immediately stopping the blender and pushing another bottom row button, all while we weren’t here I should add, and now she’s added several hundred “cycles” in a very short time..

  • I have bought yesterday a 2008 Blendtec Q Serie that had only 1809 cycles.
In 6 years, the coffeshop owner made only 1809 cycles (average 301 cycles/year / 25 cycles per month / 0,83 cycles per day).
It’ss in very good condition for a fraction of its price.
I am proud to own the BESt of the BESt commercial blender and planning to use it everyday from now.
I have done 4 cycles for the fisrt day of use.
    Great piece of machinery

  • I have had my Blendtec for 5yrs and it just burned out at 2599 cylces. I do abuse it though, stuffing it (and then some) full every day making smoothies.

  • I’m only at 160 (about 1 blend a day) but seeing numbers in the thousands gives me increased confidence in my BlendTec

  • I purchased my BlendTec. Used it! Loved it! Loved my baby girl more! Gifted it to her when she moved away so she could have her morning smoothies! I miss them both!!!

  • We are at 2784 blend cycles, we use it every morning for our smoothies.

  • At first the counter on the Blendtec bothered me. My husband convinced me that it was good to show how much we are using it.. worth the purchase price. I no longer even look at the number, most of the time, I just enjoy using my blendtec as often as possible!

  • We’ve had ours for about 11 months and have almost 700 blends. That’s an average use of about twice a day! Even after a year, my Blendtec is still exciting to me!

    Anna on

  • I used my Blendtec about every other day for about 18 months. It had about 350 on the counter. One day I noticed that the counter had reset to 0. I have no idea how or why. Any thoughts?

    Sharon on

  • Had mine for about 3 years now. Just went over the 2,800 mark not long ago. I use it every day I am in town and miss it so much when I am not in town.

  • Over 900 blends in 2.5 years. I love my Blendtec!!!!

  • Ok, is it wrong for me to want to win a Blendtec for myself so I can give my mom my old, but still, very functioning Oster blender? Or if I win, should I give my mom the new Blendtec and then I have to be jealous with my old Oster blender? Oy, I’m not happy with these feelings, when I KNOW my mom would just say, “you keep the new blender for yourself”! Now, I just have to hope I win a BLENDTEC!!! :-D

    Cindy on

  • The cycle counter on my Blentec definitely justifies my purchase. I’m using it for a lot more things then I initially imagined. Nut butters, ice cream and smoothies are just a few of our favorites.

  • Just passed 100.

  • Wish I had one!

  • I have mine for about a month now and I have around 450 cycles. So far we have made breads, smoothies, pancakes and the equivalent of a Ice Cappuccino from Tim Horton (in Canada). We love our Blendtec Designer Series blender.

    Mathieu on

  • We were blessed to receive and donated blender for our daughter who is 100% tube fed. We have had our blender for just over 2 months now and we have 331 blend cycles on it! I need to go blend some more stuff for her and add to that number!

    Sara Cecil on

  • Love knowing why my counter is there. I use my Blendtec several times a day and after a year and half, I have almost 4000 blends to show for it!
