Blender Care and Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance of your Blendtec Blender bases and jars will help to improve the life of the blender and reduce equipment costs to your store. See below for examples of properly cared for equipment, as well as equipment that needs to be replaced.

THE BASICS

• Rotate blender bases weekly as per FLEX Log & Ops Manual

• Do not overfill blender jar past highest ounce mark

• Never spray base, pour liquid on a base, or submerge the base in water

• Only add/remove a jar when the drive socket is at a complete stop

• Do not hit the blender jar on the counter/base to shake free contents

Blender Base

Care Essentials

A) Blender base clean and maintained, with proper ventilation and proper spacing (minimum 12 in. from center base to center base).

B) Proper programming, clean screen with no liquid residue.

Items to Avoid

C) Cracked screen.

Cause: hitting blender jar on base/using jar to push base buttons.

D) Damaged electrical cord.

Cause: Not pulling plug from wall properly.

E) Electrical not properly installed. Each blender base needs its own outlet, no sharing outlets or using extension cords.

Care Essentials

Cause: cleaning with improper chemicals, or by cleaning with anabrasive sponge or brush.

C) Seal damaged on corner of enclosure, wont close, dry and worn.

Cause: Improper cleaning chemicals, slamming enclosure lid.

Drive Shaft

Care Essentials

A) and B) No wear, socket “teeth” are sharp and not worn. Socket spins easily when using thumb and finger.

Items to Avoid

C) Socket “teeth” are worn and damaged .

Cause: Removing jar from base before motor has completely stopped sponge or brush.

Blender Jar

A) Jar clean, markings clear and visible, no cracks or scratches.

Items to Avoid

B) Chipped jar base.

Cause: Hitting jar on counter to shake contents, throwing/dropping jar in comp. sink.

C) Dirty and chipped base, fading markings.

Cause: Dirt buildup due to improper.

Cleaning, faded markings and cloudy jar due to abrasive scrub/wrong chemical being used.

Jar, Single vs. Double Bearing

Replace Jars Frequently

A) Current jar since 2016 with internal double bearing wall, reduces sound and fatigue on base.

B) Discontinued single bearing, not supported and can damage base. Dispose of as directed.

How do I tell when my jar was made?

Find the marking to the left on the bottom of the blender jar.

The arrow points to the month, and the numbers to the left and right of the arrow are the year.
