    EXCELLENT question.

When I’ve made recipes that call for sugar,I’ll use coconut sugar. Also, when I make my fruit leathers I just add unsweetened apple sauce. Gives good texture and sweetens at the same time. My family devours whatever I make!

Pet birds love fruit, let’s make some "Fruit Feathers"! (Free Leather laugh).

Absolutely! You can use other sweeteners if desired (banana, dates, maple syrup, honey, etc.) or just leave it out altogether.

I have weened myself from many sugar involvements, as there is sugar and High fructose Corn Syrup in absolutely everything including hot dogs. i would like to make this with the pear calling the shots. What do you think? Same procedure for other Fruit Leathers?
