Meet Emmalynn, One of Our Youngest Fans

A Blendtec blender is incredibly useful for incorporating healthy foods into your diet. For many people, the benefits are life changing. But for some, they are life saving. Take the case of Emmalynn, who was born four months early.

Emmalynn greets the world for the first time.

From the moment she arrived, weighing only 1 pound 8 ounces, Emmalynn has been a fighter. Her parents, Deneigh and Phillip, were overjoyed to greet their tiny new daughter and had prepared themselves for the long, often difficult journey of parenting a micropreemie. After three surgeries and 137 days in the neonatal intensive care unit, Emmalynn finally came home to live with her family. She weighed a total of 6 pounds 14 ounces.

Because Emmalynn’s digestive system was still underdeveloped, she was fed a special liquid diet administered through a gastric feeding tube, or g-tube. Unfortunately, after several months it became clear to her doctor that she wasn’t gaining the weight needed to thrive. Her parents didn’t know where to turn. Not until, that is, they heard about Blendtec from an online support group.

Fast forward two months, and today Emmalynn is once again gaining weight and turning into a wonderful little girl with an attitude to match her strong spirit.
