The winter holidays are upon us, and that means holiday parties and family get-togethers! Of course, no holiday party is complete without food. Whether you're planning on hosting a party or contributing to a potluck, these recipes will help you celebrate with delicious drinks and dishes to share with your family and friends.
11⁄2 c low-fat buttermilk
1⁄2 c orange juice
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c whole wheat flour
3⁄4 c all-purpose flour
3⁄4 c rolled oats
1⁄4 c brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1⁄2 tsp kosher or sea salt
1 c cranberries
2 tbsp orange zest (approximately 1 orange)
Add buttermilk, orange juice, eggs, and vanilla to WildSide+ jar. Secure lid and press “Pulse” 2–3 times. Add whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to jar. Secure lid and select “Batter.” Add cranberries and orange zest to jar. Secure lid and pulse 7–10 times or until desired cranberry size is reached. Allow batter to rest 5 minutes. Heat griddle or other pan over medium- to medium-high heat; grease heated griddle. Pour approximately ¼ cup batter onto heated pan, and cook approximately 1 minute or until bubbles break surface of pancake and underside is golden brown. Flip and cook for approximately 30 seconds. Repeat with remaining batter. Keep warm in oven at 200°F, loosely wrapped in foil, or serve immediately. Top with Citrusy Cranberry Syrup.
11⁄4 c all-purpose flour
1⁄4 tsp salt
1⁄2 tsp granulated sugar
5 tbsp cold butter, cut into pieces
4 tbsp ice-cold water
Add flour, salt, sugar, and butter to Twister jar. Place and hold Twister lid on jar, then press "Pulse" 10-12 times until misture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water. Replace Twister lid and hold, pressing "Pulse 8-10 times until dough is formed, turning Twister lid counterclockwise during blending. Do not overblend. Remove dough and pat into a smooth disc. Wrap disc in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours before rolling out dough. Makes one 9-inch pie crust.
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1⁄8 tsp garlic powder
1⁄3 c pecans
2 oz blue cheese
3 oz cheddar cheese
8 oz Neufchâtel cheese
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1⁄8 tsp kosher or sea salt
1⁄4 c fresh parsley
Add pecans to WildSide+ jar and secure lid. Pulse 3–5 times or until finely chopped. Pour onto flat surface. Add all other ingredients to WildSide+ jar and secure lid. Select Speed 1, and run for 10–15 seconds or until ingredients are incorporated. Remove mixture from jar and form a ball. Roll ball in pecans. Cover with plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Let stand at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before serving.
11⁄4 c milk
11⁄4 c water
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
3 tbsp brown sugar
1⁄2 candy cane
1⁄8 tsp kosher or sea salt
1⁄8 tsp ground cinnamon
Add ingredients to FourSide jar or WildSide+ jar in order listed. Secure lid and select “Soup.” For extra-warm cocoa, run "Soup" cycle twice.
12 slices brioche or challah bread, 1" thick
1⁄2 c jam or preserves, any flavor
1 c raw almonds
1⁄3 c granulated sugar, divided
1⁄3 c butter, softened
1 large egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp powdered sugar
Preheat over to 375°F. Place bread slices on cookie sheet, and spread jam thinly on bread slices. Add almonds and ½ of sugar to Twister jar, adn place lid on jar. Select "Speed 3", and turn lid counterclockwise during blending. At 30 seconds, press "Pulse" or "X" to stop cycle. Add remaining sugar, butter, egg, and milk to Twister jar. Place lid on jar, select "Speed 2", and turn lid counterclockwise during blending. At 30 seconds, press "Pulse" or "X" to stop cycle. Pour mixture into pastry bag, and pipe mixture on jam-topped bread. Bake for 20 minutes or until almond spread is golden brown. Remove from oven and cool. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of cooled bread slices and serve.
