Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done very well! But it is LOUD AS A JET ENGINE when running at full tilt! This thing should come with ear plugs and a warning label. It will drive everything with ears out of the room. If the windows are open, the neighbors know when I am spinning up a smoothie. Not a great choice for an apartment but if you can stand the noise (forget morning smoothies if your spouse sleeps in) it will absolutely reduce organic matter to a uniform puree. Make sure you get the lid all the way on! If you don't you will redecorate the room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate Bachelor Appliance I bought this specifically to blend entire meals and drink them...which is exactly what I do with it! My primary blended meal is pre-cooked chicken breast, can of beans, veggies, and some salsa. Makes food prep and consumption super easy. A nice bonus is that instead of just drinking my post-workout protein, I have been making protein ice-cream with my blender. Amazingly awesome to turn routine into a treat. Happy to report that I have found ZERO faults with the unit nor any negatives in regard to it being a refurb. Blendtec will be getting future orders from me for all the gifts I will be giving to friends and family!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Machine It is fabulously easy to clean, which encourages more use. I appreciate the recipe book; it has gotten me going and now I feel comfortable experimenting a bit. We have the Wildside Jar and when I double the recipes for smoothies, sometimes another cycle is required to get everything well blended, but obviously that is not a big deal. Overall, it has been an absolute joy to use. Comparisons: When shopping it basically broke down to 4 options. 1. $30-$50 basic blenders, 2. $100-$200 "power" blenders like the Ninja, etc 3. Blendtec 4. Vitamix. We have had/used several basic blenders and they work for basic things but don't really work/inspire use beyond simple tasks. Next the $100-$200 purposeful power blenders, we had one of these. It lasted 2 years mostly worked but it still had limitations and was annoying to clean. So it came down to Blendtec v Vitamix. We had not used either one. We picked the Blendtec, here are the post purchase thoughts: Positive: 1. Some say it is loud, it is but not abnormally loud for being a blender; 2. Very easy to use/clean; it works much better than cheaper blenders. 3. Modern feel, look, size. 4. Customer Service was very good so far. Negative: only one, some of the reviews for vitamix claimed smoother (i.e. less fiber) smoothies; I think this might be possible. The blendtec smoothie results are completely acceptable but I think there's a little room for improvement. If you are thinking about it, here's how I thought about it. If you want a magic machine you may be satisfied or you probably will be disappointed. If you want a superior blender which is easy to use then you will be satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features We bought this in Dec, 2013, and have been very please with it. We were having problems and realized it was our fault- we were filling it too full. Really important to fill only half full!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Easy To Use! I got this blender as a birthday gift and it has totally changed how I use my kitchen. I have been eating even more healthfully than I usually do, and have become mildly addicted to smoothies and soup. I've also made salsa, attempted a bread from my own recipe, and a few nut milks. It's pretty much the best kitchen tool ever. However, you should seriously consider having UPS hold your blender at one of its stores if you live in an area where packages are frequently stolen. The box is clearly marked "Blendtec".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of power! We really like it. Our friends have a Vitamix, and they have to use the tamper stick to push everything down into the container. You do not need to do that with the blendtec. The reconditioned unit arrived in very good condition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! I love my blendtec!! I use it for everything. The noise isn't too bad but because we live in a small apt and our living room is close to the kitchen it sounds louder. Their customer service is incredible. The "apron" of my jar was getting black scuff marks on it from the base and I wasn't sure why. I called and the rep on the phone had me run tests on my blender jar and sent me a new one to be safe. The next day I was feeling bad that maybe I overreacted and a new one was being sent for no reason because when I called I was really tired. I receive my new jar two days later and when I compared the two jars the rubber washer under the apron on my old jar was completely worn and the blades were loose. When I used my new one my smoothie was ready within the cycle time. These people care about their products and customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect, awesome, love it! Previously had a ninja, but it doesn't blend the harsher produce (i.e. kale) very well... went back and forth between a blendtech and vitamix and landed on blendtech.. both are great blenders.. we LOVE our blendtech.. powerful motor, easy to clean, and pulverizes kale and anything we throw at it! love the automatic time for blending feature! and haven't had any problems at all with the refurbished one!... smoothie calling me.. gotta go!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!! I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Blendtec is simply the best. I've used many blenders being a raw vegan gourmet chef, Blendtec beats them all! I love the shape of the vessel it makes it so easy to clean. The motor is so fast and efficient you don't even have to use a plunger! Not to mention how quiet it runs. Thank you Blendtec for creating such a sleek, wonderful, gorgeous product! Just looking at it makes me happy! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Machine There's no doubt Blendtec is the crown jewel of blenders. I purchased a refurbished model and must say I had to remind myself it wasn't brand new. Everything from packaging to cookbook to the blender itself was brand-new. Would definitely purchased refurbished over new. I used the money I saved to purchase the twister jar. Which, by the way, I love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful! This is a great blender! It is a little loud, but this should be expected by something that has so much horse power. I haven't found anything it couldn't blend smooth in a quick manner. The recipe manual is an awesome added benefit. I didn't expect to get one because it was refurbished. And the touch screen is beautiful! Looks great in my kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes it can! The first day I received my refurbished Blendtec I used it immediately to make a fruity smoothie using the preset button from the recipe book that came along with it.. It works as amazingly as it looks. I've used it to make batters, drinks, & shakes. I'll be using my blender for much more. So far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Fabulous! I've had my machine for two months and I just LOVE it! I've only made smoothies so far but am anxious to try some soups once winter arrives. I love how easily it cleans up (no sharp blades!) to worry about. If you are thinking of buying one I would highly recommend this model. Oh yeah, we went out to dinner the other night and had a drink at the bar and guess what they were using to make margaritas? You got it ... they loved it too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks nice under my cabinet This machine is the loudest blender I have ever had. If I put 2 halves of a frozen banana in there it takes quite a while to blend it up and still leaves chunks. I don't use the blender as often as I thought I would due to the noise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Easy and Works Flawlessly! My morning smoothies haven't been better. Some products didn't blend as well due to the much higher power of the Designer Series than my previous Nutribullet (milks and some dairy products would get a frothy head), but once I figured out the right product combinations, the drinks were flawless. Blendtec offers an A+ product and even better customer service!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blends everything I haven't had the blender for too long, but it's managed everything I've thrown at perfectly (kale, raw beets, nuts, ice). It makes brilliant smoothies and I love the recipe book. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it can be super loud and it dances around on my counter top when on the highest speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second Blendtec! My first Blendtec is the Total blender and I love it so I bought the Designers Blendtec for my country house. It does an outstanding job even on chia seeds. However, with the digital controls on top, don't turn the power switch on or drop anything on the controls and try to wipe it off before securing the top!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So happy I love my blendtec!! My kids are enjoying smoothies more now than from our basic blender. I like the features and the easiness of cleaning it. Mostly been making smoothies. But I've also used it to make some batters. Still need to try te ice cream feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love our smoothies! We bought this a month ago and LOVE the blender! It fits well under our cabinets and has excellent performance. Only wish it had a tamping tool to mash frozen fruit down into canister for smoothie. Otherwise, we are more than pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love our blender! Its amazing how many times we use this blender. Sometimes up to three times a day. It works as advertised and has great features. It's a bit loud but any blender with this much power is loud. We use it for shakes and soups primarily.

Why is there a two pound difference in weight between the two refurbished models?

The base of the Designer Series refurbished model is two pounds heavier, which keeps it more stable when doing powerful blends.

When are you getting the Designer Series Certified Refurbished in champagne back in stock , also what is the difference between the Designer Series Certified Refurbished and the Total Blender Certified Refurbished?

Asked by: Kacey189
Because our refurbished blenders are dependent on blenders coming in to be repaired to then be sold again as refurbished blenders, we can't say with any guarantee when a certain color will be back in stock. The biggest difference between the two refurbished models, is the design. You can learn more about both blenders here:

Is the jar dishwasher safe?

Asked by: gnkuyps
The is dishwasher safe. We recommend putting it on the top rack and turning off the dry heated setting. However, we recommend even more that you wash it by hand. It will keep your jar lasting longer and working more efficiently. If your blender has a Clean cycle, just add a cup of water and a drop or two of dish soap to your jar, replace the lid, run the cycle, and rinse. If your blender does not have a Clean cycle, add the same amount of water and soap, replace the lid, Pulse a few times, and rinse. I use the "Batters" cycle when I clean my jar.

Which model is the refurbished that is listed for sale?  I cannot tell by the screen shots of the top of the blender.  According to the specs, it is a 625.  But if you look at the screen that is shown, it does not match.

If these blenders are so good, where do the refurbished ones come from and how old are they?

Asked by: poppy rose
Like all products, our blenders can experience wear and may need to have parts replaced. Some people return them for this reason, so we get blenders that are repairs and some are just returns. Even returns are considered refurbished, even if there's nothing wrong with them, just because they were previously owned by someone else. All refurbished units are tested like a new one, and received any repairs it may need.

Yes, you can make nut butters with this blender. It comes with the WildSide+ jar, and it takes a bit more time to make nut butters than it would with our Twister jar. If you make nut butters frequently, we recommend using the Twister jar. It will cut the effort and time in half.

Could you please list the decibel range of the various models of blenders? Are the refurbished models louder than the new models? Are the more expensive models more quiet than the cheaper models? If so, by how much?

Asked by: Blendercurious
This is difficult to generate as it depends on what you are using the blender for, and each blender sounds a little different. The Classic blenders are all equally loud, the Designer 675 and 625 are a little quieter and the Designer 725 is a little quieter still. All the differences between these models are pretty small until you get to the pro 800 which is drastically quieter than the others, since it has the sound enclosure.
