Rated 4 out of 5 by from Luv my Blender, disappointed in the leaking gasket Ive not quite has this a year and the black gasket to my wildside jar started shredding - we'd see little black shreds on the base when we removed the jar- now the gasket leaks any liquid we put in. Im really disappointed and hope I can have the jar replaced since we dont use it daily but its a great product and the jars are awfully expensive if the gasket is going to shred and wiggle the blade and leak. I thought my kids did it so blamed them, but in the Q&A section here, I see its not an isolated situation. I hope we can get this resolved so I can go back to loving my blender!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blendtec honors their warranty I abuse my blender daily with frozen fruits, and the jar failed after having it for about 7 months. I got a new one in 3 days w/ no hassle after emailing customer service about it. Realistically, no blender jar's blade assembly is going to last years with daily use (I bought the blender expecting to need warranty replacements for the jar, since there's no chance it's going to last 7 years with daily use), so as long as blendtec keeps sending me new jars when they wear out for the duration of the warranty, I'm satisfied. The jar sounds different when it's starting to wear out, so when this happens get in touch w/ customer service so you can get a new one shipped out to you before the old one completely breaks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shredded Gasket... My wife bought this blender 2 years ago and we have used it 25 times TOP's... I go to use it tonight to start my Green Smoothie cleanse and not even a few seconds in, smoke starts coming from the bottom of the Jar so I turn it off and when I lifted the Jar, The Gasket was SHREDDED and it leaked all over my floor... Very Unhappy... So then I go get the box it came in so that I could read the warranty information and it says that I have to have the original sales receipt to have the Jar repaired under warranty... I have no idea what I did with a receipt from 2 years ago! Ugh... So now I'm stuck with a $300 paperweight??...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great blender, too bad the jar's gasket has broken I bought this 10 months ago and now the jar leaks and gasket is going. I've used it to make smoothies only - about 2 a week over those 10 months. Don't want to spend $100 for a replacement jar if it will break down too. Really disappointed and unsure what to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding! I got the Wildside as a replacement for the original jar that I flat wore out. This jar is terrific -- it is quieter than the standard jar when I make my smoothies which are very heavy on the ice. It also blends the contents quicker than the original jar and has a lower profile. Also easier to clean than the original jar because the base is wider and I can get a cleaning brush down there very easily. Awesome jar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Great Replacement I bought the wildside jar as a replacement for my regular jar when the latter's blender rotor blade seal shot black stuff all over the motor housing. I had bought a blendtec for my girlfriend with a wildside jar so I'm familiar with the advantages of this jar and I really like mine. I use it mostly to make morning smoothies where I can put nuts, veggies, fruit and all sorts of ingredients to aid my health. It handles everything quite well and I particularly like that it can start on a slow speed for other types of blending. After I bought the wildside jar I was contacted by a company representative who informed me that I had an active warranty on the blender and so I opted to accept a twister jar instead of a refund on the replacement jar. I'm looking forward to making peanut butter and hummus with the twister jar. I do, however, have a concern about the seals wearing out on the jars. The blendtec I got for my girlfriend is a year and a half old and I find black material oozing out of the bottom of the jar around the rotor/blade (see photo). As I think back on my original jar it showed those same signs. Yet there was never any leakage from the jar nor was there contamination of the ingredients of the jar and this holds true for the wildside jar that my girlfriend has. But when the seal blew on mine I didn't want to take a chance on leakage or contamination and so I ordered a new one. I'm posting this as a mixed review but I do like my blender!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap pitcher on otherwise great blender I bought this blender just over a year ago and was initially well pleased. It blends frozen food and raw food VERY well to almost baby food smoothness if desired. I make smoothies with it every day. However, the wonderful performance is shattered about every 6 months because the pitcher base burns up and breaks. This seems a common problem which leads me to wonder WHY doesn't Blendtec improve the design?? The contrast between the engineering excellence of the base and the weakness of the pitcher is hard to overstate. I have to order my 3rd pitcher...sigh. I'm thinking I may ebay this thing and get a Vitamix so I don't have to pay an extra $200/year for pitchers. Sooooo frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have For A Minimalist Kitchen This blender is extremely versatile. I use it for many tasks from whipping up smoothies and hummus to making bread dough. One base and two jars (Wildside and Twister) take up little space but deliver big on multi-function ability. If it could cook rice, it would be the only counter top appliance I would need. The really important thing is it works great.

You can grind frozen meat chunks in the WIldSide+ jar. You can grind 1 pound of partially frozen and cubed meat. Add the cubed meat to the jar and secure lid. Press "Pulse" 4-6 times until ground to desired consistency.

Hi, I have a wide jar Blendtech. The plastic jar is stained from plant juice stains and I am wondering if it possible to remove the stains somehow? What products or home remedies do you recommend? Thank you.

Asked by: DavidT
We recommend: 1. Fill the jar with hot water. 2. Add 1-2 teaspoons of liquid chlorine bleach. 3. Stir for 10 seconds to mix water and bleach. Let mixture stand in jar for 5 minutes. 4. Empty water/bleach mixture. Turn jar upside down on dish rack until dry. Others have found success with: - Juice of 1 lemon, 2-3 Tbsp of baking soda, and some water. Then, run on a high speed and scrub with non-scratch sponge. - Vinegar mixed with baking soda (and some water) will also work. Then, run on a high speed and scrub with non-scratch sponge. - Or, 1-2 Tbsp. powdered dishwasher detergent dissolved in 1-2 cups hot water, left to soak for 1 hour. Then, scrub with non-scratch sponge. - To get 'smells' out, just grinding up a lemon works like it does for your garbage disposal. Combine Lemi Shine® Original with some powdered dish washer detergent and let soak in the jar for 20 minutes.

I would like to ask whether the jar is available also with metric units (ml and l instead of oz) to be usable outside US too.

Asked by: Peppe
Our jars have markings on two sides, oz and cups one one side; ml and cl on the other side.

I just got my blender a week ago and am so far loving it! I want to make some ice cream! Is the Wildside+ Jar freezer safe? Because when I used the Ice Cream setting, it did not freeze the ice cream, so I'm assuming I have to freeze it? Thanks!

Asked by: FireCracker3240
It will be more of a soft-serve consistency after blending but you can put it in the freezer to harden it up. We recommend putting the ice cream into another container before placing in the freezer. Keeping it in the jar may ruin the jar.

I see that your jars are a BPA-free copolymer.  Are they also phthalate free? Are they polycarbonate?

Asked by: kimber
Our jars are BPA, halogen, and phthalate free. Our jars are not made from polycarbonate.
