Can you substitute almond milk cubes for the whole milk?
I’ve tried this 2 times now and both times it has come out as more of a milkshake than ice cream.
I used maple syrup in place of the sweetened condensed milk and it was delicious. I used honey in my pear version of this ice cream and it worked well also. I think maple syrup is a better match for vanilla.
It will come out more like soft serve than the ice cream you’d buy at a store. You can try blending it less, adding more milk cubes or putting it in the freezer for a bit for it to harden up.
I tried this recipe last night and am sorry to say that my Blendtec would not permit me to choose the ‘ice cream’ button. My only option was ‘smoothie’ and we ended up with vanilla milkshakes – so sad
