Getting the Most from Blendtec's Customer Service
Blendtec's customer service experts are here to help you with warranties and any questions you may have. You can reach us Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. MST by calling 1-800-748-5400. When you call, please have your machine with you so we can troubleshoot together. Also please be ready to tell us the following:
- Blender serial number
- Place of purchase
- Date of purchase
- Name of the jar you're using (WildSide+, FourSide, or Twister)
- 4- or 5-digit number on the jar's bottom
- If your blender is abnormally loud: Run a blend cycle without the jar on the blender.
- If the noise diminishes, the jar needs to be replaced.
- If your blender has a burning smell: Run a blend cycle without the jar on the blender.
- If the burning smell continues, please call customer service to complete more troubleshooting.
- If the burning smell stops, the jar needs to be replaced.
- If your blender is smoking: Run a blend cycle without the jar on the blender.
- If the blender continues to smoke, please call customer service to complete more troubleshooting.
- If the blender stops smoking, the jar needs to be replaced.
- If your blender’s LCD shows the message Over-temp: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool for 20 minutes.
- Spin the shaft at the bottom of the jar before you put the jar on the blender. This step will help break any sugar built up on the seal.
- If you are going to store the jars for a while, put some food-grade oil around the seals. (The seals are self-lubricating, so when you use the jars regularly you do not need to add oil.)
- If you have more than one jar, alternate their use to keep the seals lubricated.
Please give our customer service team a call at 800-253-6383 and they can help you resolve this issue.
My blendtec shows over temp in LCD display and smokes like someone is smoking cigaratte. Should I worry? What should I do now since I never notice before. Does it indicate problem in machine. Please help me. I have this one since 2015.
Hi Betina,
Here are some tricks that should help get rid of the odor:
Fill the jar with hot water.
Add 1-2 teaspoons of liquid chlorine bleach.
Stir for 10 seconds to mix water and bleach. Let mixture stand in jar for 5 minutes.
Empty water/bleach mixture. Turn jar upside down on dish rack until dry.
Others have found success with:
- Add the juice of 1 lemon, 2-3 tbsp of baking soda, and some water to jar. Run on a high speed for about 10 seconds, pour the water out and scrub with a non-scratch sponge.
- Vinegar mixed with baking soda and some water will also work. Run on a high speed for about 10 seconds, pour the water out and scrub with a non-scratch sponge.
- Add 1-2 tbsp powdered dishwasher detergent dissolved in 1-2 cups hot water, let soak for 1 hour. Then, scrub with a non-scratch sponge.
- Combine Lemi Shine® Original with some powdered dishwasher detergent and let soak in the jar for 20 minutes.
There’s a foul odor coming from the seal and compartment under the blade. How do I take it apart to clean the seals and compartment under blade?
Hi Collin,
You cannot disable the cycle count on the machines. It was originally designed into our machines when we were only making them for commercial use, but we decided to keep the feature when we started making them for home use. We’ve kept the feature because our customers seem to love knowing how much they use their Blendtec.
