Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to operate I bought this a month ago for our office. I have a Vitamix at home and love it but knew that having the plunger would be an extra step to clean, so I wanted to try the Blentec since the two are always compared. It's easy to clean and the automatic features make it easy for everyone to operate. Everyone in the office is extremely happy to have it - smoothies are a hit. I will say that I'm so glad I have a Vitamix at home - I think it definitely does a better job at blending. There are still chewable bits in the smoothie with the Blendtec. You have to run it through the smoothie cycle a couple of times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vita mix or Blendtec? I'm big into reading reviews on what I want to purchase. Although I've always wanted a vitamix, I was impressed, wowed, and seduced by moving up the Blendtec line and purchased a Designer 675. Wow Wow Wow. This sleek sexy blender has exceeded ALL of my expectations. For every area I reviewed with each blender, Blendtec won. I'm very happy with my research and my new Blendtec Designer 675. Hands down - best Smoothies, soup, and ice breaking performance!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing multi-purpose machine! This machine makes amazing smoothies, mills my spelt flour, and makes incredible frozen yogurt. I can't wait to make soup and my own baby food. The power is amazing. It feels good to know I can use it without fear of burning out the motor...we are loving the 3 hp. This was a great investment, and the champagne color is a very classy addition to my kitchen. It matches my bread machine. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great powerful blender Excellent blender. Makes very smooth drinks no matter what goes in.. (except back berries) the seeds don't blend for some reason.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used it everyday for 3 years. Over 3000 uses I love everything about this appliance-except the noise. The variable speeds are fabulous. It gets the job done with the most difficult ingredients. It is a snap to clean. However, I cover my ears.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed... Love it ! This is blender is beyond good .... I use this blender for my kale shakes, it makes them smooth without sucking air into it ( drinks are not foamy at all....which was a big issue with my previous blender ). My shakes ends up without any veggies, fruits pieces, everything is blended just perfectly .... This machine is very powerful, easy to use and clean.... can't imagine using anything else but Blendtec :) Thank YOU so very much !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this blender! I replaced a Breville whose motor was burning out during normal use and whose warranty had expired. The cost of the blender and twister jar seemed excessive, but I chose to splurge on myself. I'm so glad that I did! After purchasing in November 2014, the usage counter is up to 100. I have made ice creams, smoothies, and almond butter (from *raw* almonds) with great success. I cannot recommend this blender highly enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great and when it doesn't who cares Its by far the best blender ever used. I prefer it to my friends vitamix. Unfortunately mine stopped working a few weeks after i received it but it doesn't really matter because I was able to get it replaced.

How many watts does the 675 work on? I'm looking to take it with me to europe and use a converter.

Asked by: nissim
The Designer 675 has 1675 watts but we typically discuss the power in terms of peak horsepower (PHP), with this machine having a 3.8 PHP motor. While it is possible to convert a 120 V motor base to be used on a 220 V electrical outlet, we do not recommend this as it is too risky and the motor base's warranty will be voided if taken out of the country.

I thought that I read that these machines were powerful to blend things like a whole avocado, pit and all.  Is this correct?

Asked by: Alp4c4
Yes, our blenders can fully blend an avocado pit just fine.

I am trying to decide if buying the 675 is worth the approx $100 over the 625.  As far as actual functionality of the two machines (other than the ob vious presets, etc) what does the 675 do that I couldn't do with the 625?

Asked by: Alp4c4
The big difference is that the Designer 675 has a 3.8 PHP (peak horsepower) motor while the Designer 625 has a 3.0 PHP motor. The end result should be the same from both machines, but the stronger motor will get it there faster.

I currently use a Vitamix to make a hummus like dip from raw almonds. I am interested in the Designer 675. How is it in grinding hard foods and what setting would I use?

The Designer 675 can handle grinding hard foods very well. You can check out our grinding grains guide that tells you how to best grind raw almonds: http://www.blendtec.com/blog/grinding-grains-in-a-blendtec-blender/.
