Instructions
FourSide or WildSide+ Jar
- Add peanuts and salt to FourSide or WildSide+ jar and secure lid. Blend on Low speed for 15 seconds, then increase speed to High and blend until 50 seconds.
- Using a spatula or Spoonula, move peanuts towards center of jar, add oil and secure lid. Blend on medium to medium-low speed for 50 seconds, then blend on medium to medium-high speed for 50 seconds.
Note: You can also make peanut butter without the added oil. Instead of adding the oil after the second cycle, simply blend the peanut butter for an additional 50 seconds on Low speed. Then, continue blending for two additional cycles as directed above.
Twister Jar
- Reduce ingredients by ½.
- Add peanuts and salt to Twister Jar. Blend on a medium to medium-high speed for 50 seconds or until desired texture is reached. Turn lid counterclockwise while blending.
I made this peanut butter and it turned out great. My concern in the future is my blender moved around at high speed and my jar became worn at the contact points on the bottom. Is this a common problem on high speed?
How do you store your butters? In the fridge? I LOVE my Blendtec and use it at least twice a day!!!
Chrissy, this same thing happens to me and I have all but given up on my Blendtec. I was too stubborn to return it within the time frame they allowed and now I’m stuck. I went to a demonstration today for Blendtec hoping I would change my mind about the blender. I haven’t — but the man from Blendtec told me that they should replace your jar if the gears are not staying engaged and making the machine jump around. You might want to call them on Monday. I know I will. BTW, this was a huge store I went to and the minute I entered the front of the store I could hear the Blendtec running in the back of the store. Sounded like major highway construction. I don’t know about you but the sound is enough to make me crazy.
I just made this 10 minutes ago in the Wildside+ jar and it came out great. This was the first recipe I did in my new Blendtec :)
I’m glad this works because I have both Type 1 diabetes AND Celiac…This is one of the few things I can have as a treat and even all natural peanut butter has added sugar in it. This is a much better way to have my fix since the only carbs are from the nuts themselves. No more unexpected glucose spikes.
Yes you do have to scrape the sides down a couple times but who cares? It’s not a major chore to do that. A few scrapedowns and around 5 minutes later, the creamiest peanut butter EVER, and I did not use any extra oil.
Note to readers…if you like your peanut butter more on the salty side like I do, you definitely will want to use salted dry roasted peanuts. I ended up adding another 1/2 tsp of salt (maybe more) after it was completed and just mixed that in on low speed because it still needed more. Clean up was pretty simple too…the machine did most of the work and I finished cleaning out what was still in there. No residue under the blade or anything.
