Note: To make this recipe in the FourSide jar, follow all of the same instructions. If there are still ice chunks in the mixture after the ice cream cycle is complete, hold down the pulse button for 6-10 seconds until the ice is blended and the star-shape or X is formed at the top of the fudgesicle frosty.
Notes
For a full recipe of frozen fudge pops, substitute 1 cup of ice cubes with 1 cup of plain almond or soy milk. After blending, pour mixture into ice pop molds, insert sticks and freeze until solid.
For a recipe with no avocado, use ¾ cup coconut milk, ⅓ cup agave nectar, 3 tablespoons cocoa or carob powder and ½ teaspoon xanthan gum to jar. Secure lid and press "Pulse" 4–5 times or until mixture becomes more viscous. Add 3 cups of ice cubes and secure lid. Select "Ice Cream."
I am very interested to know the variation for making fudge pops. Thanks!
Made this recipe last night, subbing out the agave nectar for coconut nectar. It was insanely delicious and my 3 boys (7, 9 & 10) along with my husband LOVED it. They had no idea it had avocado in it and I think it made the recipe creamier, more like ice cream!! Great recipe Blendtec. We will make this again and again!
Is the nutrition info for the entire batch or for 1 serving (1/3 of it)?
This recipe is easier to make in the WS. To make this recipe in the FS jar, follow all of the same instructions. If there are still ice chunks in the mixture after the ice cream cycle is complete, hold down the pulse button for 6-10 seconds until the ice is blended and the star-shape or X is formed at the top of the fudgesicle frosty.
This turned out really chocolatey and yummy. The first time we made it, we made it exactly like the recipe, but the consensus was to add 1 – 2 T of additional sugar and everyone loved it. Since I don’t usually have agave syrup handy and don’t really care for the flavor of it or honey in some recipes, I just substitute the equivalent sugar amount plus additional liquid. The second time I made this for the kids, we just used regular milk and regular sugar. Although we liked the little date pieces found throughout this dessert, I thought it could be more uniform. So I pulsed the dates with the milk until no more big pieces were prevalent, then I continued with the recipe and it turned out much smoother. To make it extra special we add some aerosol whipped cream and drizzle chocolate syrup on top for special effects! Now I know that some would pooh-pooh on this suggestion, but we love our smoothies thick (no different than making some of the ice crush or ice cream recipes or this recipe), but the blendtec gets so much cavitation that we find we have to open the lid after most of the fruit/mix is incorporated and not bouncing all over the place, then stir the top of the thick mixture to keep the vortex going. Works like a charm and you end up with a smooth, creamy result! Love Blendtec!
