What's in a Square Jar?

Posted by Paul Faerber on

Ever wonder why Blendtec blending jars are square? To understand the answer, imagine you’re a strawberry. And you’re resigned to the fact that you’re about to become a smoothie. If you were dropped into a round blending jar, you’d just get pushed along in a circle, like a super-fast merry-go-round. That’s not so bad for you, the strawberry. But it’s definitely not good for the smoothie. Now imagine getting dropped into a Blendtec square jar. In short, you’d be doomed. Rather than being chased around and around by the blade, you’d be flung against one of the flat sides of our square jar. Inertia would carry you up the side of the jar until you reached the top of the smoothie mix. At this point, you'd turn around and head back down, right into the business end of the blades. Bye-bye, strawberry. Hello, delicious smoothie.
