Getting the Most from Blendtec's Customer Service
Blendtec's customer service experts are here to help you with warranties and any questions you may have. You can reach us Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. MST by calling 1-800-748-5400. When you call, please have your machine with you so we can troubleshoot together. Also please be ready to tell us the following:
- Blender serial number
- Place of purchase
- Date of purchase
- Name of the jar you're using (WildSide+, FourSide, or Twister)
- 4- or 5-digit number on the jar's bottom
- If your blender is abnormally loud: Run a blend cycle without the jar on the blender.
- If the noise diminishes, the jar needs to be replaced.
- If your blender has a burning smell: Run a blend cycle without the jar on the blender.
- If the burning smell continues, please call customer service to complete more troubleshooting.
- If the burning smell stops, the jar needs to be replaced.
- If your blender is smoking: Run a blend cycle without the jar on the blender.
- If the blender continues to smoke, please call customer service to complete more troubleshooting.
- If the blender stops smoking, the jar needs to be replaced.
- If your blender’s LCD shows the message Over-temp: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool for 20 minutes.
- Spin the shaft at the bottom of the jar before you put the jar on the blender. This step will help break any sugar built up on the seal.
- If you are going to store the jars for a while, put some food-grade oil around the seals. (The seals are self-lubricating, so when you use the jars regularly you do not need to add oil.)
- If you have more than one jar, alternate their use to keep the seals lubricated.
So far so good. Just bought the Classic 570.
I don’t like the tally of uses that display on the LCD INFORMATION CENTER. How can I disable this unnecessary information from appearing.
And why did you program such a needless function, unless I am missing the big picture here.
Cheers,
Collin
Hi Eileen,
Sometimes certain foods/spices can stain/cloud the jar over time. We do not recommend using castor oil. However, here’s an article with some cleaning tips: http://www.blendtec.com/blog/how-to-maintain-your-blender-jar/.
If the above tips aren’t working for you, we recommend that you:
1. Fill the jar with hot water.
2. Add 1-2 teaspoons of liquid chlorine bleach.
3. Stir for 10 seconds to mix water and bleach. Let mixture stand in jar for 5 minutes.
4. Empty water/bleach mixture. Turn jar upside down on dish rack until dry.
Others have found success with:
- Juice of 1 lemon, 2-3 Tbsp of baking soda, and some water. Then, run on a high speed and scrub with non-scratch sponge.
- Vinegar mixed with baking soda (and some water) will also work. Then, run on a high speed and scrub with non-scratch sponge.
- Or, 1-2 Tbsp. powdered dishwasher detergent dissolved in 1-2 cups hot water, left to soak for 1 hour. Then, scrub with non-scratch sponge.
- To get ‘smells’ out, just grinding up a lemon works like it does for your garbage disposal.
Combine Lemi Shine® Original with some powdered dish washer detergent and let soak in the jar for 20 minutes.
My plastic Bledtec canister always gets discolored. The new one my friend just bought me is already starting to change color…parts of it do not look clear anymore. My brother suggested I rub castor oil in the plastic so it will not absorb. Would you recommend that…or do you have any suggestions?
Thank you!
~Eileen
Hello,
I’m sorry to hear you are having issues with your blender. Please call 800.748.5400 for assistance in getting this issue resolved. Be sure you are near your blender when you call.
We have permanent “Overload” on the display, motor doesn’t start, power on/off doesn’t help. Is it possible to reset the blehder or to take to the service station? Our model ES3, total blender black.
