You can't go wrong with these classic scones, which are great for breakfast, brunch or a midday snack.
Ingredients
3 c
all-purpose flour
2½ tsp
baking powder
½ tsp
baking soda
½ c
granulated sugar
1 tsp
kosher salt
¾ c
margarine or butter
¾ c
currants or raisins
1 c
buttermilk
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 400°F. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt to Mix n Blend II mixing bowl. Cut in butter, and add currants or raisins. Gradually add buttermilk, beating at Speed 5 until dough clings together. Turn onto floured surface, and gently roll into ½" thickness. Cut with 2" round pastry cutter or glass, and place on cookie sheet. Brush tops with buttermilk, and bake for approximately 15 minutes.
