Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE!! This is my second Bledtec machine. I owned the first one they ever made (K-Tec) and have used it on a commercial level for 25 years, baking professional wedding cakes locally. I finally decided that I deserved an updated machine and sent the old one to college with my daughter. It is one tough machine. It is less expensive than the Bosch I purchased a few years ago and the Blender outwhips all other blenders, including the Bosch! It will turn ice into snow in just a few seconds! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this machine!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from should have gone with Bosch I have had this for about 4 years now. I used to use it pretty much every day and many time several times a day. Mostly for bread and smoothies. Worked great in the beginning. I make a lot of bread and the dough turns out perfect. The problem is that the components are not strong enough if the dough gets slightly too tough. If you try and make anything other then their bread recipe like pretzel dough or just accidentally add a little too much flour (doesn't take much), it will bend the dough hook. The dough hook then ruins the bowl because it digs into it. The other components like the french whisk and the regular whisk can not take much. A double batch of cookie dough...NO WAY! Even a single batch, not happening. The blender is great. It does tend to leak from the bottom after a while. I even try to be good about turning the blade by hand before I use it every time. The company has been good to replace the components for me 2 or 3 times, but it just keeps happening and I have to have to call and get them replaced thing all the time. I don't have time for this. And I'm not one that likes complaining so it sits for a while in an unusable state until I get so frustrated that I finally call. The last couple months the little digital part of my mixer has stopped working it turns on and will go to the bread, but will not turn on to the other settings i.e. smoothie, ice cream, none of those. Today all I could get it to turn onto was bread and speed 1. I know Kitchen Aid and Bosch last FOREVER so having put this much money into a mixer/blender and only lasting 4 years is so disappointing! I feel terrible putting this bad of a review on here, but I just can't let it go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm I got this as a gift about 6 years ago and it soon became my only blender. It makes well blended smoothies and will finely chop just about anything. The mixer still works too.

Are the attachments still available for the blendtec such as the pasta maker, meat grinder etc? I am looking for a complete ensemble to give as a wedding gift.

Asked by: Bonzeye
Unfortunately they quit providing those accessories. I still have mine from my first machine that I bought over 12 years ago. It is still being used by my daughter, but, she didn't get the accessories as I use them a lot. Especially the meat grinder and pasta press.

Does the mix and blend blender part does everything a regular blendtec blendet does like soup, puree, self clean ect....

Asked by: heavensent
Yes it does, but it does not have the same power that a blender has. The Mix n' Blend only has 1100 watts where the blender has 1560 watts, so it may take longer to make soup, etc. It also does not have a self-clean button, but you can just use "Pulse".

Can you grind coffee beans and spices?

Asked by: DSouza
Yes, you can grind coffee beans and spices in a Blendtec jar. However, coffee beans can stain your jar, and spices can impregnate the jar, so your next smoothie will taste like that spice. None of this is covered under warranty as they would be cosmetic (the jar will still function the way it should). Hope that helps.

I live in Saskatchewan, Canada.  Do you have any dealers here?   If not what would the shipping charges be if I ordered the mixer?  I presently own one and it is +20 years old and I would like to purchase another one.

Asked by: Joanie
The shipping charges on a mixer is about $50. We do not have a dealer in Canada that sells this product.

Does the base fit the larger WildSide jar?

Asked by: mdkr
The Mix n' Blend only works with the FourSide jar. The Mix n' Blend II does not have the same power as our blender, and the WildSide jar needs more power in order to work properly.

How does this compare to the stand alone mixers making smoothies? I have a vintage version that doesn't mix smoothies well. Do you take trade-ins?

Asked by: Mont
Our stand alone blenders have more power. You can call 800.748.5400 for assistance if you are looking to purchase a new one.
