What is the difference between the Wildside and Wildside+ jars?

I was wondering about the 90oz WildSide jar, it says 36oz marked halfway up the blender which would lead you to believe that it's 72oz max.  I have the jar, I'm happy with it but my dad just got one & thinks they sent him the wrong size.

Asked by: JM01
The total capacity of the jar is 90 oz, but the markings only show up to 36 oz, as that is the line we recommend that the finished blended product stays at or below. If the markings on your dad's jar are more or less than 36 oz, he mostly likely has the wrong jar. However, if the markings on the jar go up to 36 oz, then that is the correct jar.

I am confused about the Wildside Jar ? Are there two different types of  Wild side Jar - one Wildside and another Wildside + ? Some of the jar pictures on the web ..have + in the end of the world Wildside ..some don't. Please clarify.

Asked by: BlendNDrink
The WildSide jar is the original 5-sided jar from Blendtec. The WildSide+ jar features two vertical ridges on the interior walls to disrupt the blending pattern even further and accelerate the blend. You will get great results with either jar.

I originally got the Wildside+ jar for making large smoothies; however, I am now in a position of wanting to make medicinal liquids in amounts as small as possible so as to chug them. What is the smallest liquid amount I can make with this jar?

Asked by: Blendercurious
The liquid needs to cover the blade. If there are other foods such as bananas, strawberries, pineapples, etc., then the liquid can go as low as 6 fl oz in the WildSide+ jar.

Hi, I have a wide jar Blendtech. The plastic jar is stained from plant juice stains and I am wondering if it possible to remove the stains somehow? What products or home remedies do you recommend? Thank you.

Asked by: DavidT
We recommend: 1. Fill the jar with hot water. 2. Add 1-2 teaspoons of liquid chlorine bleach. 3. Stir for 10 seconds to mix water and bleach. Let mixture stand in jar for 5 minutes. 4. Empty water/bleach mixture. Turn jar upside down on dish rack until dry. Others have found success with: - Juice of 1 lemon, 2-3 Tbsp of baking soda, and some water. Then, run on a high speed and scrub with non-scratch sponge. - Vinegar mixed with baking soda (and some water) will also work. Then, run on a high speed and scrub with non-scratch sponge. - Or, 1-2 Tbsp. powdered dishwasher detergent dissolved in 1-2 cups hot water, left to soak for 1 hour. Then, scrub with non-scratch sponge. - To get 'smells' out, just grinding up a lemon works like it does for your garbage disposal. Combine Lemi Shine® Original with some powdered dish washer detergent and let soak in the jar for 20 minutes.

I just got my blender a week ago and am so far loving it! I want to make some ice cream! Is the Wildside+ Jar freezer safe? Because when I used the Ice Cream setting, it did not freeze the ice cream, so I'm assuming I have to freeze it? Thanks!

Asked by: FireCracker3240
It will be more of a soft-serve consistency after blending but you can put it in the freezer to harden it up. We recommend putting the ice cream into another container before placing in the freezer. Keeping it in the jar may ruin the jar.

Is one jar better for thicker doughy blending? Like a thick pate brisee or something even thicker that would ball up in a cuisinart?

Asked by: Johnnewyork
The Twister or WildSide+ jars work well for making thick blending. If doing a small quantity (1 pate brisee, peanut butter, milkshake) then the Twister jar will be a great fit. For larger quantities, we recommend the WildSide+ jar.

When blending large batches I notice that the lid begins to lifts off the jar and the contents leak out. Please tell me what is the best way to avoid this problem? What is the maximum safe amount I can fill the jar when blending?

Asked by: MarkC
We recommend that you don't fill the jar past the markings (up to 36 oz). If you fill the jar past the markings, it can cause the food being blended to leak out the top. Also, are lids fit very tight on the blender, and sometimes may seem like they are on all the way, and they are not. Be sure the lid is on securely before each blend.

I bought my blendtec at Costco about 3 years ago, and am on my 2nd jar, needing to buy a 3rd.  They build up a residue inside, that I can't clean off.  It seems like cement; I'm afraid to to use an abrasive scrubber on the plastic.  Any suggestions?

Asked by: jSjuicer
First of all you are under warranty for 8 years on your blender and jars from Blendtec and Costco. Cosmetic damage is not covered. So we suggest a product found on the dish detergent line called "Lemmy Shine". It works to lift that residue.

We are only making the WildSide + now. The difference is that the WS+ has small fins inside the jar that assist in moving the food easily. It improves the vortex.
