This new patented Wild Side;lt;/b> jar features an offset fifth side which shifts the blending vortex and produces a powerful cyclonic action. New copolyester jar is BPA-free, more durable and has a lower pitch sound

OREM, UTAH, USA – April 20, 2009 – Blendtec, a global provider of high-performance blenders and dispensing units, announced the release of a new blending jar which uses a copolyester material that has greater chemical resistance, improved sound dampening qualities, and contains no BPA (Bisphenol A).

"We place a high value on innovation and continuous improvement with all Blendtec products, so our engineering department has been testing a number of new materials over an extended period of time to determine which was able to meet our production and usage specifications," said George Wright, VP of Marketing and Sales for Blendtec. "Many consumers are looking for alternatives to polycarbonate and we are glad we can now offer that in this new jar along with the other benefits of the copolyester material," says Wright.

The first use of the new material will be in 2 quart blender jars included in all Blendtec blenders for home use and in standard packages for specific commercial blenders. Other commercial use is also under development and as soon as production and usage specifications are verified, additional products will be made available which use copolyester in place of polycarbonate.

A new series on The Discovery Channel called Time Warp, will premier this Wednesday evening (check your local listings for time). Tom Dickson, CEO of Blendtec was invited to appear on the segment which is titled, Will it Blend. The show features all sorts of things, from daily occurrences to rare events, all filmed in extreme super slow motion. Among other things the producers chose to film while Tom was on the show was super slow motion footage of Tom blending 7 butane lighters in a Blendtec Total Blender. The Blendtec Innovation Center allows company to test new equipment in real world environment

OREM, UTAH, USA October 6, 2008 Blendtec, a global provider of high-performance blenders and dispensing equipment, today officially opened the new Blendtec Innovation Center at their headquarters in Orem, Utah.

The Blendtec Innovation Center is a collection of themed environments which reflect the settings where Blendtec equipment is used commercially. By testing current and new equipment in these real world settings engineers and sales managers are able to understand how the equipment interacts with those who will be operating it and how the surroundings influence placement and space management.

''Having such a true to life environment for product testing and demonstration is a great addition to our ability to understand our customers and provide the equipment solutions which meet their needs,'' says George Wright, Director of Sales and Marketing. In addition to testing the equipment, the Blendtec Innovation Center provides a place where customers can meet with Blendtec personnel to try new equipment and see how it might fit in their operating environments.

In designing the Innovation Center, four unique environments were blended into one homogenous location but each environment still retains its own distinct characteristics and operational constraints. The four environments are; bar and nightclub, coffee shop, convenience store, and ice cream/smoothie shop.
