Blendtec’s 7-Year Warranty: What You Need to Know

facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterest
7-year warranty seal

All Blendtec home-use blenders carry a full 7-year warranty.

At Blendtec we  continually strive to provide our customers with the best products possible and with outstanding customer service. We’ve made changes over the years to better accomplish these goals. One example is our product warranties. In 2011, we increased the warranty on our home-use blenders to 7 years. Impressive, right?  The warranty covers the motor base as well as the jar (if purchased with the blender; jars purchased à la carte carry a 3-year warranty). If you have any issues with your blender or jar, please call Blendtec’s customer service department at 800-748-5400 and we will be happy to help you. Please note that you will need three things:

  • The blender’s serial number (located on the bottom of the motor base)
  • The number located on the underside of the jar
  • The jar’s highest ounce marking

Please have your blender with you when you call. During the call, we will troubleshoot with you to determine the exact nature of the issue. If the problem is with the jar and it’s under warranty, we will ship you a new jar for free—you won’t even pay for shipping. If the problem is with the motor base, we will provide options for repairing the blender or sending a refurbished blender as a replacement. Again, we’ll pay the shipping costs.

Do you have any questions or comments about your experience with Blendtec customer service? Sound off below, or let us know on Facebook!

Happy blending!

Note: The 7-year warranty applies only to US residents and to blenders purchased new since 2011.

      Hi Melissa,
This warranty applies to only US residents. The warranty for Canada will vary depending on if you buy from Costco or from a dealer and which dealer you buy from.

I live in Canada, but have a US mailing address. I buy products frequently on costco.com instead of .ca. What would my warranty be?

      Hi Tara,
Your blender has a 3 year warranty. We didn’t make the change to a 7 year warranty until 2011, but you can always call our customer service (801-222-0888) and double check with them. They’re always happy to help.

Hi Kelly- I am very interested in purchasing a blender this weekend but need some clarification about the warranty. When looking at Costco’s website to order. It says 8 year LIMITED warranty.

Can you the specifics of this? Does this cover all parts and labor? Or is it a full warranty. The blog here says full 7 yrwarranty. Is there a difference in coverage if you order from Costco as opposed to directly from Blentec? I know they add one year, but why does it say limited? Is there a difference. Does Blentec still cover all parts on the base, such as the electronic buttons and inside for full 8 years in case something goes out early, when purchased from Costco.

    Thanks.
    Matt

      Hi Matt,

This is a great question. Our warranty terms for blenders sold at Costco are the same as all of our blender warranty terms. The 8 year warranty covers your blender from the tip of the cord to the top of the jar. We pay shipping both ways and it covers parts and labor. The warranty does not cover normal wear and/or cosmetic blemishes.

Thank you for your great question.

Purchased a Blendtec “Home Blender” (model # ES3 HPA Black) from Bed, Bath and Beyond. The box says there is a 7 year warranty. BUT the warranty in the “Home Blender User Guide” says there is only a 3 year warranty? Could you clarify?!? Thanks in advance.

I bought my blendtec one year ago from Costco the blender as of this morning was smoking and I noticed a metallic smell and I discovered a leak at the bottom. I can’t find the receipt and I can not go a day with out my blender. I am tempted to hunt one down today since it is Sunday. I have all the serial number and pertinent information ready. How long will it take to replace the jar and if I buy one at a authorized retailer will you reimburse?

If we purchase the blender off this website, but live in Canada and have it shipped to Canada will the 7 year warranty apply? I would just buy it at Costco, but I’d like the new Designer Series Wildside and it’s currently not offered on Costco.ca.

What is the process (if there is one) for registering the blender for the warranty? I purchased one for my mom from Costco last month and want to make sure the warranty is in place in the case of any issues. Thanks!

      Hi Jason,
You shouldn’t have to register the blender. The warranty will be automatic with the purchase. But if you ever have questions about the warranty, our customer service reps will be glad to answer them 801-222-0888.

Yesterday I left a message with the customer service department regarding our Blendtec motor base. The motor base began smoking yesterday and spinning some type of black grease on the underside of the attached jar. We have had the unit since Christmas 2012. Please provide us with assistance in obtaining a replacement. Thank you.

It says the jar has a 7 year warranty if bought with the blender. Is that the jar it comes with( Wildside for the Designer Series) or will it also apply to the Twister Jar if I ordered it along side the blender from this site?

The only way you can confirm the warranty is to good, is to get the serial number. When, or if you can get the serial number, call customer service at 800-748-5400 and we can confirm any warranty on the machine.

    Totally impressed!

I’m in Canada…called the 800 number to get a replacement for a leaky jar. The customer service lady took all my info and said that it might be about 10 days for the replacement to arrive since she wasn’t sure how long it would take to pass through the border. It arrived the very next day! To be exact…from the time I called to the time it arrived at my door…26 hours.

Thank you Blendtec. Very cool customer service!

We bought our Blentec mixer in May 2008. I think it had a 5 year warranty? If that’s correct, we are just a few months past the warranty time. Can it be replaced? It turns on, but we get a Watchdog error, then it stops working. We bought it on-line from an on-line store.

Hi I brought a blendtec and we registered it online, yet we have no confirmation email that we can find, bit worried as we know we registered and it now has some error codes after only 6 months. Can someone tell me if I should of received an email or if I can login to confirm it was registered correctly?

Great question Karlie. You should have received a confirmation email when you registered your blender, I am sorry that this didn’t happen. If you are seeing error codes, please give our customer service team a call (801-222-0888). You won’t need a registration confirmation for them to be able to look up your warranty and help you with your blender.

Hi, I live in Mexico City and I’m interested in buying a Blendtec Blender at a Costco warehouse in Mexico. I read about the 8 year warranty, and I was told that if I ever had any problem with the blender during that time, I don’t need to contact you, that I can return it to any Costco in Mexico and they’ll provide a new one. How can I know if that’s actually true, and/or information about your service providers in my country?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Kelli,
I am an American living in Tokyo, Japan and I would like to buy a Blendtec Designer Series
to use here in Japan (I have a 3000 watt transformer so I should be OK with regards to power conversion). If I purchase a Blendtec while I am back in the US during Christmas and bring it back
with me to Japan, will I still be covered under Blendtec’s 7 year warranty?
    Thanks!

Hi David. Thanks for asking. Unfortunately, if you use a transformer on our blenders it will void the warranty and could damage the blender. You can however, purchase a blender in Japan. We have a dealer there you can purchase from or you can check out Costco in Japan, as they now carry our blenders.

    Hello,

I just spoke with Joseph at BlendTec customer support. I had a problem with my BlendTec vibrating at high setting with a very loud concerning noise. Joseph told me I probably had a problem with my jar and is sending me a new jar covered under my 7 year warranty! Will update upon receipt of jar if problem is resolved. Great customer service thus far!

Thank you so much for your answer. I bought the Total Blender Classic Wildside today in Mexico City (Costco Polanco). The employee of the store told me that the warranty of this product covers eight years. But my question is: If I have some trouble with the Blender in the future (months or years later), where can I go to get value the warranty? Directly to the same store, Costco? Or do I need to call you or send you an e mail and you will redirect me to somebody else? I really appreciate your explanation.

This is really a good news for the consumers by increasing the extended warranty for 7 years its really a long period or there will be chance of blender damage but having an extended warranty you should be relaxed. Thanks for sharing this post.

    Hi,

I’m in Canada, and purchased the Designer Series with Wildside jar from FutureShop. If we have problems with the machine within the 7 years, will shipping be covered under the warranty? I know that it states it’s covered in the US, but I’ve heard that it isn’t for Canadians.

Also just wondering if there is a list of authorized retailers? I’m sure FutureShop must be, but couldn’t confirm.

    Thank you!

      Hi James,
If there is a problem with your machine, you will need to send it to a repair shop in Canada. You will have to pay for the shipping to the repair shop. If you have any problems with the machine, contact our customer service at 800.748.5400 and they can give you a current repair location.

        Thanks Kelli,

That’s unfortunate. There was no mention of that anywhere. The warranty was a huge part of the reason for purchasing this unit. That seems somewhat unfair to Canadians.

We’re actually now experiencing what appears to be metallic dust, between the base and the jar, after every blend. There are also a lot of chunks in every smoothie. It’s only been a little over a month of use.

I’m a us citizen living abroad in the Netherlands. I’m currently looking into our hazing a blendtec total. Until I Head that the warranty is only for 1 year. How is that possible? I have to admit that I was shocked when I heard this. I also saw something fishy on the Dutch blend tec site. It looks like they are selling an older model the hpa3 as the total. ….it all sounds a bit strange and makes me start to doubt how the Brand is being presented here.

Just called. At 5:45 pm eastern time service was wonderful on replacement of 32 oz jar with bad base seal. Will be sending new jar since had it only about two years and 780 cycles. No need to even return old jar. Can’t wait to start blending again. She even mentioned my recent louder noise was probably due to jar. We will keep our ears open to hear if that is true.
