Blendtec’s 7-Year Warranty: What You Need to Know

facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterest
7-year warranty seal

All Blendtec home-use blenders carry a full 7-year warranty.

**Blendtec’s warranty has changed to 8 years. For more information about our new warranty, please visit our site: http://www.blendtec.com/warranty**

At Blendtec we  continually strive to provide our customers with the best products possible and with outstanding customer service. We’ve made changes over the years to better accomplish these goals. One example is our product warranties. In 2011, we increased the warranty on our home-use blenders to 7 years. Impressive, right?  The warranty covers the motor base as well as the jar (if purchased with the blender; jars purchased à la carte carry a 3-year warranty). If you have any issues with your blender or jar, please call Blendtec’s customer service department at 800-748-5400 and we will be happy to help you. Please note that you will need three things:

  • The blender’s serial number (located on the bottom of the motor base)
  • The number located on the underside of the jar
  • The jar’s highest ounce marking

Please have your blender with you when you call. During the call, we will troubleshoot with you to determine the exact nature of the issue. If the problem is with the jar and it’s under warranty, we will ship you a new jar for free—you won’t even pay for shipping. If the problem is with the motor base, we will provide options for repairing the blender or sending a refurbished blender as a replacement. Again, we’ll pay the shipping costs.

Do you have any questions or comments about your experience with Blendtec customer service? Sound off below, or let us know on Facebook!

Happy blending!

Note: The 7-year warranty applies only to US residents and to blenders purchased new since 2011.

      Hi Melissa,
This warranty applies to only US residents. The warranty for Canada will vary depending on if you buy from Costco or from a dealer and which dealer you buy from.

      Hi Tara,
Your blender has a 3 year warranty. We didn’t make the change to a 7 year warranty until 2011, but you can always call our customer service (801-222-0888) and double check with them. They’re always happy to help.

I bought mine in February of 2008. Called Customer Service today because the front panel no longer works and the motor is acting weird. They are honoring the 7 year warranty and sending me out a certified reconditioned unit out. Way to go BlendTec!

Hi Kelly- I am very interested in purchasing a blender this weekend but need some clarification about the warranty. When looking at Costco’s website to order. It says 8 year LIMITED warranty.

Can you the specifics of this? Does this cover all parts and labor? Or is it a full warranty. The blog here says full 7 yrwarranty. Is there a difference in coverage if you order from Costco as opposed to directly from Blentec? I know they add one year, but why does it say limited? Is there a difference. Does Blentec still cover all parts on the base, such as the electronic buttons and inside for full 8 years in case something goes out early, when purchased from Costco.

    Thanks.

      Hi Matt,

This is a great question. Our warranty terms for blenders sold at Costco are the same as all of our blender warranty terms. The 8 year warranty covers your blender from the tip of the cord to the top of the jar. We pay shipping both ways and it covers parts and labor. The warranty does not cover normal wear and/or cosmetic blemishes.

Thank you for your great question.

      Hi Nathan,
Has the warranty on the jar changed? I purchased my Blendtec at costco I think in 2010 and when I had an issue with the jar I was told the jar has shorter warranty. I was very disappointed. I was under the impression the warranty covered the entire product.

Purchased a Blendtec “Home Blender” (model # ES3 HPA Black) from Bed, Bath and Beyond. The box says there is a 7 year warranty. BUT the warranty in the “Home Blender User Guide” says there is only a 3 year warranty? Could you clarify?!? Thanks in advance.

I bought my blendtec one year ago from Costco the blender as of this morning was smoking and I noticed a metallic smell and I discovered a leak at the bottom. I can’t find the receipt and I can not go a day with out my blender. I am tempted to hunt one down today since it is Sunday. I have all the serial number and pertinent information ready. How long will it take to replace the jar and if I buy one at a authorized retailer will you reimburse?

What is the process (if there is one) for registering the blender for the warranty? I purchased one for my mom from Costco last month and want to make sure the warranty is in place in the case of any issues. Thanks!

      Hi Jason,
You shouldn’t have to register the blender. The warranty will be automatic with the purchase. But if you ever have questions about the warranty, our customer service reps will be glad to answer them 801-222-0888.

Yesterday I left a message with the customer service department regarding our Blendtec motor base. The motor base began smoking yesterday and spinning some type of black grease on the underside of the attached jar. We have had the unit since Christmas 2012. Please provide us with assistance in obtaining a replacement. Thank you.

The only way you can confirm the warranty is to good, is to get the serial number. When, or if you can get the serial number, call customer service at 800-748-5400 and we can confirm any warranty on the machine.

The warranty is transferable; however, the warranty does not start over. If you’ve buy a used blender that is two years old, only 5 years remain on the warranty.

The customer service lady took all my info and said that it might be about 10 days for the replacement to arrive since she wasn’t sure how long it would take to pass through the border. It arrived the very next day! To be exact…from the time I called to the time it arrived at my door…26 hours.

That’s unfortunate. There was no mention of that anywhere. The warranty was a huge part of the reason for purchasing this unit. That seems somewhat unfair to Canadians.

We’re actually now experiencing what appears to be metallic dust, between the base and the jar, after every blend. There are also a lot of chunks in every smoothie. It’s only been a little over a month of use.

You must buy the Blender in the country in which you live. The warranty is only good in the country you purchase it, that is because of the power variations from country to country.

Just finished a warranty claim with Blendtec regarding my Wildside Jar. The claim was handled by David Larsen and I have to say, that you guys are doing a wonderful job and I only wish other companies would follow your example of “excellent” customer service. My only small recommendation (which David also promptly fixed) is that when you are shipping product to Canada, you might want to consider methods other than UPS, who are notorious for adding outrageous brokerage charges to Canadians. (For instance had this been an actual purchase UPS would have tried to charge $58CDN in total charges)

Sorry i have somehow managed to post the previous comment without asking the question. As I have mentioned I recently received a fabulous gift- your blender. It was purchased in Costco here in the UK. My question is : how do I register a warranty for it and also since I’m not a Costco member will I be allowed to take it to any Costco store for an exchange if anything went wrong with the blender in the years to come. Would I have to provide Costco with their receipt? (I don’t have one but I guess I could ask my cousin for it)
    Many thanks for your help

I can’t recall the date I bought my blendtec but the blades are weakening – the food processor option is working poorly, how will I know if I am still covered? I thought the blades have lifetime warranty. I only have used it 600 times according to the cycles information. So not much use.

    Hi There,

I recently purchased a Blendtec from Bed, Bath and Beyond in the US when I was travelling. I live in Canada and brought the blender home with me. Will the 7 year warranty still be available to me?

    Hi Kelli,
So from what I gather by looking at these comments and replies, if I buy any Blendtec blender through an authorized dealer in Canada and something happens to the motor or jar etc, then call customer service to have a repair service contact info., and the shipping cost is on customers. But if I buy a Blendtec blender through your website and something happens to it, you will cover the shipping costs both ways (to and from Canada). Correct?

This is a long post, and I never review/comment on anything, but I had to for this one. Was on hold for about 15-20 minutes and was beginning to lose hope but then finally someone took my call. Exceptional customer service would be an understatement. I unfortunately do not remember the young woman’s name, but she was SO nice. I told her the blade in the blender jar was warped, smelling metallicky, and had little pieces of metal starting to pull away from it. Also, the base was worrying me as it was loud and smelling metallicky as well. After hearing this, she immediately sent a replacement blender. That’s right – an entirely new one. This was purchased from Costco god knows how long ago, but she honored the warranty anyway. I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely be sticking to Blendtec as long as I can use a blender, and will recommend them to everyone.

      Hi Kelsey,
So glad to hear you got taken care of by one of our great customer service reps. We hope you continue to enjoy your Blendtec for a long time. Here’s some tips to help keep your product on top shape:
      – Clean your jar immediately after use, don’t let food sit in it.
      – Before each use, turn the blade with your hand from the bottom of the jar by spinning the drive shaft.
      – If the jar hasn’t been used over an extended period of time, you may want to put warm water in it and let it sit for 15 minutes, dump it out and then turn the blade with your hand to ensure it’s not stuck.

I bought my blendtec in Canada, Costco, 1 year ago, since we thought we would move there soon. Now I have problems with the motor, but we live in Germany. Is there any location in Germany who would help out with a blendtec – even one from Canada?

      Hi Yvette,
I’m so sorry you are experiencing issues with your blender. Unfortunately, the warranty is void when taken out of the country of the original purchase (except in the case of purchasing in the USA and using it in Canada). We cannot extend the warranty because of the different and unstable voltage.

    Hi,
I just called customer service and spoke with Mikaila (sp?). Our 2010 blender has gotten very loud, and the jar blade doesn’t spin very easily. Mikaila was super nice and immediately offered to send a replacement jar, no charge, no shipping. This was quite possibly the best customer service call and experience I’ve ever had. Thank you, and great job.

Hi, I am living in HK and wanting to get a Designer series model which is not available in the dealer here, they only have the classic range.

If I buy it from an online retailer such as Amazon UK, will the 7 year warranty still apply? And what if its broken, does it need to be sent to which country? Or will it be going thru the HK dealer?

The HK dealer only offer 3 year warranty as well.

    Thanks!

      Hi Chris,
Our blenders our designed to work with the plugs and voltage in each country that they are sold in. You can purchase from another retailer that sells our Designer models, but the warranty will be void on that product.

I have a question about the warranty. I purchased my blendtec from eBay as refurbished back in August. Do I have register it somewhere or keep the receipt in order to show proof of my purchase date.

The warranty is transferable. It will be based on the serial number on the bottom of the motor base. Even a refurbished one carries a warranty. I would suggest you call (800.748.5400) in and register it, then we can find out what warranty you have on the product you bought.

Hi there, I bought a Blendtec from Costco almost 2 yrs ago & had also registered it on your website. A wk ago while I was using it it started to sound like the motor was going to explode, so I stopped it & tried it again. I noticed the jar blade stopped spinning when I tried blending anything. What is the process to get all of it replaced? It is a struggle having it out of commission!
    Thanks,
    TS

    Hi
I bought a Blendtec from Costco here in Canada about 13 months ago and I love it. I use it everyday. Yesterday, while using my large Wildside Jar, it starting making a horrible noise and smoke started coming from the motor. The food wasn’t jammed, I wasn’t sure why it started acting up. Today I tried it with my small Twister Jar – works just fine. Then I tried it again with the Wildside Jar – started to smoke again. Can I exchange just the problem jar or do I have to return the whole unit? Would I take the jar or unit to my local Costco? I did register the warranty. I need it everyday, and am hoping for a speedy solution. Thank you so much for your help.

      Hi Kim,
We’re sorry this happened. It sounds like your jar shaft froze and the drive socket is trying to force the shaft to move, thus creating smoke with the brushes in the motor. Please call 800.748.5400 for assistance in getting a new jar. Be sure you are near your blender and jar, as we will need the serial numbers on them.

Here are some tips to help prevent this from happening in the future:
      – Clean your jar immediately after use, don’t let food sit in it.
      – Before each use, turn the blade with your hand from the bottom of the jar by spinning the drive shaft.
      – If the jar hasn’t been used over an extended period of time, you may want to put warm water in it and let it sit for 15 minutes, dump it out and then turn the blade with your hand to ensure it’s not stuck.

I bought my Total Blender w/ WildSide Jar & Spoonula in early 2012
at the time i would swear the warranty was 7 years or 10,000 cycles which ever came 1st.
am i crazy has the warranty ever mentioned 10,000 cycles?
if so would i fall under the old warranty with a cycle count? or would i just have a 7 year warranty with no cycle count?

    thanks

      Hi Cassie,
All of our new blenders now have an 8-year warranty, and our refurbished blenders have a 7-year warranty. The blender having a warranty will depend on whether or not the blender is new or used (previously owned). If it is new, than yes, our warranty will apply. If it a blender that has been previously owned, than a warranty may or may not exist on the product anymore. If you have a serial # for the product, you can 800.748.5400 to find out what the warranty is.

    Hi,

I own a Blendtec total blender for almost 2 years. Today the blender stopped working, the power led is turned off, even though I tried many times to unplug/plug it back. So basically I cannot start it anymore. Right now I live in Romania, so if I need to ship it in order to repair it , the warranty will still be valid? Thanks!
