After 40 seconds my almond butter was still dry and hard. I was afraid to over work the blender and turn more. Is it common to have to blend for longer for the nuts to release the oils?

    • Hi Erin,
Were you using the Twister jar? An issue like that isn’t uncommon if you use the FourSide or WildSide jar, but it shouldn’t happen in the Twister jar. If you’d like, I can send you an e-mail with our dietitian’s number and she’d be glad to talk to you about this.

I tried again (both times with the Twister Jar) – this time it was nice a creamy. Maybe different almonds. I guess you should try more than once… it’s delicious!

I just received my Twister Jar today, which I got specifically to make almond butter. However, even though following the directions exactly, my ‘butter’ is extremely grainy and nowhere near the texture or consistency I expected. Additionally, I wanted to make raw almond butter so I used unroasted almonds, but everything got so hot that it started steaming. Can you help?

      • Hi Sandra,
Almonds typically require a longer blend time than other nuts, and the blend better is they are roasted. After you blend them in your Twister jar at “Speed 7” for the 50 seconds, if it is not the consistency you desire, continue blending until you get the desired consistency.
