On St. Patrick’s Day, my wife and I play a few small tricks on our kids and blame a leprechaun. Then during the rest of the day, anything out of the ordinary gets blamed on the leprechaun. The poor guy is our scapegoat for 24 hours. The one trick the leprechaun plays on us every year is that he turns most of our meals green. Here are 24 recipes that are green—or could easily be turned green—to make your St. Patty’s Day a little more festive. Just click on an image to go to the recipe.
Here are some ways to turn foods green:
- Green food coloring is by far the easiest method, but many people don’t like their children to consume color additives.
- Spinach is great for recipes that are thicker, such as smoothies, pancakes, waffles, and frosting.
- Chlorophyll is best used to color liquids.
