Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased. I've had my blender a couple of months and have really loved it. I mainly use it for smoothies but have made green shakes and have blended my saved egg shells. Worked great. My kids have learned to use it too. I live when they make a fruit drink in it. I enjoy the preset functions. Makes it easy. I only wish it was a bit quieter, but a small price to pay for being able to blend anything. I was also comforted by the warrantee. Makes me feel good know they stand behind their product, even the referbs. There was a learning curve with the cavitation that can occur. I like my fruit smoothies thick. (I freeze watermelon cubes and thicken with that instead of ice.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Packs a punch and does it quickly I've had the Blendtec for about three weeks, and bought it as an upgrade to my Nutribullet. I love it, and can't say enough good things. I drink roughly two smoothies a day or more, mostly vegetable-based, and the Blendtec makes them so smooth and easy to consume, I can't believe the smoothie didn't come from a juicer. I am actually looking for reasons to blend stuff. I realize I sound like an infomercial. A caveat I'll add-- if you plan to drink the juice right away, it helps to add ice; the speed of the blender warms the juice, which isn't ideal for taste. I haven't tried making soups, etc, yet, but I assume it'll work quite well to get the soup to the ideal temperature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I get a recipe update daily Bought this for my mom around February because every time she saw a commercial or program for smoothies she'd call me to watch and ogle. Of course I was tossed between vitamix and blendtec because in amoothie bars and coffee bars I'd see both, I went with blendtec because of the ease of use. While mom is great with gadgets things with a learning curve can send her frustrations high. Once she got it she called me every day to thank me for about a week. Then every morning I got a call for every recipe she made. She was obsessed with making flour...and oh my the day she made fine flour with no grit angels sang Lol. I'm happy she's so happy and thrilled that I found this blendtec for her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy Investment I owned one of the first blendtecs back in 2001 (called a K-tec then). It was one of the best investments ever made. We've used it consistently for 13 years, making smoothies, soups, grinding wheat, etc. We bought a Ninja a few months ago since it was so much cheaper but regretted it immediately. The ninja is a great blender if all you've known are the $30 cheap blenders from stores. But once you've gone blendtec it's hard to go back. Now that we have kids, it's a fantastic way to ensure our kids are getting the necessary fruits and veggies they need each day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this Puppy! I purchased this Blendtec after an illness and had to go on a feeding tube temporarily. The typical food supplied by the medical industry is meant to keep a patient's weight up, more than it is to provide good nutrition. I get this, but I was determined to not full my body with mostly sugar. I wanted whole food as much as possible. This is why I purchased the Blendtec. Blending food fine enough to make it through the small openings in the feeding tube took time to figure out and a lot of trial and error and sometimes multiple runs of the blender. Small seeds (for example, chia) ended up clogging the tube almost every time, no matter what, but eventually I was able to blend up very healthy, nutritious meals. I love this thing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only blender I will own I made smoothies for breakfast for 5 years with a magic bullet. My second bullet bit the dust and it was time to get a professional tool. The blendtec is AWESOME. Smoothies are perfectly smooth. With other blenders there were always little flakes of kale or blueberries. It was normal. Not with this blendtec. I throw tough veggies like carrots, kale with stalks, frozen blueberries, and more into the blender with ice and protein powder hit a button. About 40 seconds later I've got a silky and uniform drink that's high in fiber. I didn't know you could get this kind of quality in the comfort of your home for such a reasonable price. The recipe book that came with my blendtec is superb. The first day we got it, we made the carrot curry soup. WOW. It made a lot, and for pennies, and it was gourmet delicious. This blender has opened up a world of new cooking opportunities because it can turn anything into microscopic bits. Some of the new things I've made: peanut butter, almond butter, oat flour, ginger-lemon sugar free coolers (it turns ice into SNOW), soups, tapenade, whole carrot juice, homemade butter, and a lot more deliciousness. The presets for smoothies, whole juice, sauces, snow etc are perfectly tuned to get the job done. The jar is quite large but the overall size of the blendtec is compact. The futuristic design looks great on the countertop. I got a red one - very cool. There's a counter on the LCD screen that shows how many times I've used the blender. It's a source of pride for sure because it represents eating healthy. I can't say enough about this blender. But it's been a game changer for me in the kitchen. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for all my needs Was trying to decide between Blendtec and Vitamix. A friend really liked his V-mix but I wasn't sold. Then I found Blender Babes and watched their videos where they made juices and smoothies and decided that the Blendtec was the right unit for me. First it fits under the upper cabinets in our kitchen. Next the pre-program buttons take all the guess work and hassle out of making your favorite blended drink or soup or ice cream. It is a breeze to clean and always preforms flawlessly. Oh did I mention that when I was trying to decide and on the Blender Babes site I saw that I could purchase a refurbish Blendtec and save some $$$$ - great I am all in. So it is refurbished but works great and looked new to us. I have recommended it to several friends and will keep singing the praise of Blenddtec and green smoothies.

Can I use this as a coffee grinder?

Asked by: Sumtum
Yes you can. Here's a great post about grinding coffee in your jar: http://www.blendtec.com/blog/how-to-grind-coffee-beans-in-your-blender/. Please note though, that overtime grinding coffee can stain your jar and cause it to small like coffee.

Can the jar be put into the refrigerator if not completely empty and the smoothie/whatever be remixed without harm to either jar or contents?

Asked by: DameLaila
We don't recommend that you let food sit in your jar. It's best to put it into another container, wash your jar, and then put the contents back into the jar to blend again.
