Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Blendtec I just got me refurbished Blendtec and love it. I own an ice cream shop and have had 2 commercial blenders to make smoothies. I used the Hamilton Beach Commercial and the Vitamix. Blendtec blows them away. We can put in our mix, ice and walk away. When we come back it is perfect. Both Hamilton Beach and Vitamix involved mixing to get the mixture to move. The flat bottom on the Blendtec makes it perfect for getting every bit of smoothie out of the bottom. The other blenders were too narrow to use a spatula to get the mixture out. Great design and performance. I hope it lasts for years. Oh, the refurbished looks like new. Great value!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! I purchased a re-furbished model several months ago. Great service. Love my Blendtec! Easy to use, extremely easy to clean. I have used a very sturdy Oster blender for nearly 30 years. The Blendtec allows me to make my green smoothies on the run in the morning with a very quick clean-up. I freeze my ingredients in jars, add them to the blender, blend and pour the smoothies back into the jars, put the lids on and have a days worth for "snacking" on. I would purchase this again and recommend it to others. It is a little noisy when grinding frozen chunks. I put my hand on the lid if it gets a little jumpy. I expect it and the noise is short lived.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and service Purchased a refurbished unit online in early July. Somehow the order was lost, but a great customer service rep handled the issue and expedited the shipment. The rep was very professional, it makes me feel that we have made a good choice in buying Blendtec. We have friends that purchased both a Vitamix and this Blendtec unit, and after 10 days of using both, they sent the Vitamix back. Blendtec was far better for their smoothy and cooking needs. I have only used my Blendtec a few times, but I am very impressed with the power and the results. With a seven year warranty and great customer service, I can't imagine why you would buy anything else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Push of a button I have to say; I love my blendtec. I had borrowed a Vitamix from friends on several occasions to make smoothies (I wanted to blend rather than juice because I wanted to keep all of the veggie/fruit goodness and not waste it). The Vitamix worked well but, I had to put a lot more work into blending. My blendtec has everything I need programmed into it! I make a large batch every few days and keep the rest in the fridge! When I get home I chop and freeze what I can beets, celery, watermelon ect and then in the am I pop in whatever I want in my smoothie press the button and it goes through the cycle and bam I'm done! For what I wanted I am so glad I went with the blendtec.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I have owned this blender and used it a ton. It can not handle blending frozen fruit. I bought it to make smoothies and it has been a total let down. I have to add too much liquid to get it to blend then my smoothie is too runny. I just made some milkshakes for my girls tonight and they turned out runny too. The strawberry ice cream recipe from the book won't even blend. I have to stop it and stir multiple times to finally get it to blend. I opted for the Blendtec because of the size and supposedly the ability to blend without the tamper. Unfortunately my blender just doesn't work well and I wish I had bought the Vitamix instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels new because it is new! I bought the this recertified blendtec blender a few months back and it has been awesome! One, it does everything they say it does without any hesitation. We've made soups, smoothies, milks (almond milk) and shakes so far and it seems to make it all with ease. Two, it says it's refurbished but everything came brand new. I am almost certain that the only thing that was used may have been the motor in a different body. Even if so, I cannot tell because the performance is awesome! Plus there is a seven year warranty on it just like the "new" ones so it really doesn't matter. I highly encourage everyone who is looking at a refurbished model to save a few bucks to buy it. I have had zero complaints with mine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but a little Hard to Clean I really love my blender and use it every day for smoothies , especially green smoothies, and grinding grains. (Sprouted grains...oh my, so good!) The green smoothies get really frothy (as in, an extra 1/2 cup of air per quart!). I also use it for carrots/apples and batters. My peeve is that the lid is really hard to clean, as well as the underside of the jar. I'm thinking of getting the little jar, too, for grinding smaller amounts of grains and nut butters, but I love that there aren't a ton of pieces I have to keep track of (like with a Ninja bullet or whatever). I live in a small apt so I want everything I own to be worth the space it takes up :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment!! My husband and I bought our Blendtec in February. We absolutely love it - It has changed our lives. We smoothie twice a day, breakfast and lunch, using greens and minimal fruit. We have both lost weight and see a difference in our mental & emotional health as well! We have already used this machine over 300 times! I recommend this product to all my friends and family who are trying to make a healthy lifestyle change. It is worth every cent!

Does this model work to thoroughly blend seeds?

Asked by: Karen82
Yes, all of our blenders can thoroughly blend most seeds. Some seeds such as strawberry seeds may be small enough to require running the whole juice cycle which is longer and more powerful to blend down enough to really smooth out the texture.

What happens if the blended recipe goes above the 36 oz line?

Asked by: Guity
The 36 ounce line is the highest the liquids should be filled when all ingredients are in the jar before anything has been blended. Other solid ingredients can be filled all the way to the top and the end result can and probably will go higher than that mark if it is filled this full which is perfectly fine. If liquids are filled higher than 36 ounces before blending, there is a greater chance of spilling and leaking through the top of the jar.

What is the rated horsepower and watts of the Total Blender Classic? I didn't see them listed. I do not think the peak horsepower is a very useful spec since the motor can't sustain that.

Asked by: semorr
We measure the power of our blenders only in terms of peak horsepower. The rated horsepower and watts of a motor can be subjective which is why we do not discuss it. The peak horsepower of our motors is measured, not calculated.  The blender motor is placed in a dynamometer and connected to an outlet that is capable of providing as much amperage as the motor will consume.  The blender motor  is then run up to full speed, once the motor is at full speed the dynamometer applies an increasing load.   As the load on the motor increases the motor speed drops until it eventually stalls, speed and torque data are collected during this slowdown process which is used to generate a “speed torque curve” for the motor.  The peak horsepower we report is the point on this curve where the horsepower is at its maximum level.”

Is the model number on this refurbished unit the Classic 575?  Also, were these units manufactured in 2015.  Trying to figure out, if I look on your website at the different models, which item am I purchasing with the refurbished "total blender"?

Asked by: HurricaneWhisperer
The Refurbished Total Classic Blender is our original Total Blender, and was discontinued when we launched our new line. It is not the same as any of the other models on our site, it is a different model.

Can I order the wild side jar with a refurbished blendtec?  I saw it on the order site for $20.00.

Asked by: Tennis shoes
Yes, you can! You have the option of either a FourSide or WildSide+ jar when purchasing. There is a drop-down menu you can choose from. Hope this helps!

What is the difference between the fourside and wide side jar? Also, if I buy a refurbished blender, is just the base/motor used, or is the blender re-used too? How big is the blender, how much can it fit/hold, thank you.

Asked by: TheVeggieNut
The biggest difference between the FourSide and WildSide+ jars is the size. You can learn more about both jars here: http://www.blendtec.com/jars/wildside-jar http://www.blendtec.com/jars/fourside-jar Our refurbished blenders come with a brand new jar.

My current blender, Kitchenaid, has a thermal shut off, which is activated during blending of hot soups. Does Blendtec also have a thermal shut off? The Vitamix has a cooling fan, does the Blendtec have a cooling fan?

Asked by: mojjaba
Blendtec blenders have both a thermal shut off and a cooling fan.

I am going to college soon and unfortunately, I cannot take a blender in my dorm. I will be living off campus the following year. Will this deal still be available by then? I love this model and can't have any other, but I am also a dirt poor student

Asked by: sunsol121
This deal will most likely be around for a while, but we can't guarantee for exactly how long.
