Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My BlendTec Bought this primarily to make smoothies without hassle! Had another high end brand that I had to stop every few seconds! Was such a pain. Love the settings on this - push the smoothie button and walk away. I also wanted a blender that would fit under my counter and that I could reach. This fit the bill. So easy to use - only drawback, like any well powered blender is the noise. But worth it to me to be able to blend w/out constant stopping to move food around. Easy to clean - a few drops of dish liquid, some water, and blend a few seconds. Thank you, BlendTec for making my mornings so easy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Designer Series refurbished We are a Blendtec family. I sent my old Classic Blendtec (at least 9 years old) with my son this year as he left for college. I had also purchased Classics for my older son and daughter when they left home. They are both pleased with their Blendtecs and use them frequently. I decided to try the new Designer style. I've had the blender for several weeks and am very happy with it. The children still at home use our Designer Blendtec several times a day for smoothies. I am pleased with how well it blends the vegetables in my green smoothies. I'm hoping for this one to perform as well as my other Blendtec.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to be great, but screwups at shipping. Took me a week to decide whether to get this one, the professional series, or a vitamix.. and i chose this designer series. After ordering i got an email apologizing for the week or more delay in shipping, but that it was on the way. It arrived VERY well packaged.. the box was smartly designed, which is good because it arrived looking like the post office played football with it. They shipped it with no lid. What a let down. I reached customer service after the weekend and they have sent me a new one, another 2 week delay of course....I feel teased, its sitting there so gorgeous and i cant use it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best kitchen item we own! When I first bought this, although the refurbished model saves money, I was nervous it would look like it came from a garage sale, or break quickly. Not at all! It arrived looking like it was brand spanking new, and has been an amazing add to our kitchen. We keep it out on the counter (our only appliance on the counter) so that it's easy to use on a whim. It's also very easy to clean, as you just fill 1/3 with hot water and soap... turn on high for 3 seconds and rinse. Your machine is clean in less than 2 minutes! I also love the dull blades so no getting cut when cleaning either. We use it constantly and I tell everyone what I good buy it was and how I am glad I was converted from being a die-hard Vitamix fan. The biggest pros between this and vitamix is the more powerful motor on the home model, digital button panel (it does look very nice and doesn't get dirty like knobs), and the squared jar. Vitamix is much harder to get your finished product out entirely because of the bumpy jar sides. With the blendtec wildside, you can easily scrape out every last drop of delicious homemade hummus, salsa, smoothie... with a spatula.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A true workhorse! Learning curve for advanced uses The biggest bummer is that ice cream is a bit finicky: make the mixture too thick and you'lll end up with big ice chunks. Likewise if you toss too much frozen goods in a smoothie, there's a chance that you'll get some over-sized chunks which can be a bit jarring! Apart from that, I am a huge fan of this blender. I use it for: smoothies (SO good and SO easy for this one), making nut milk & flour (coconut and almond so far), baking (small recipes, like the naan in the cookbook), hummus/purees, soup (so far just broccoli cheddar), and ice cream. Oh, and for grinding flax seeds! It's got a lot of utility, and the recipes in the cookbook are generally very good, especially to know what sort of volumes and ratios to work with. I'll admit that there are some nuances to knowing how much material, esp. frozen goods, you can work with in one batch, but the power, reliability, and durability of the machine give me confidence that once you perfect your recipes, they'lll come out the same way every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blender I bought a refurbished designer series about two months ago. I eat at least one shake a day but often two or three. This blender does an amazing job. My previous blender would leave large clumps of unblended ingredients whereas the Bledtec always creates an even blend. So far I very impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Blender! I had a few reservations when initially purchasing the blender, but ti turns out they were unfounded. I felt like the touch screen would drive me crazy, but I tested it out in the store before I bought it and I loved it! I really recommend trying it in a store if you can because it's actually really classy and convenient. I was also worried about the lack of a tamper for when making butters and ice creams since I couldn't be bothered to buy the special Twister Blend Jar. You can make your tamper own or order them unofficially online for super cheap and if you make them right then you're good to go! It blends everything wonderfully and I love it! I definitely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Machine It is fabulously easy to clean, which encourages more use. I appreciate the recipe book; it has gotten me going and now I feel comfortable experimenting a bit. We have the Wildside Jar and when I double the recipes for smoothies, sometimes another cycle is required to get everything well blended, but obviously that is not a big deal. Overall, it has been an absolute joy to use. Comparisons: When shopping it basically broke down to 4 options. 1. $30-$50 basic blenders, 2. $100-$200 "power" blenders like the Ninja, etc 3. Blendtec 4. Vitamix. We have had/used several basic blenders and they work for basic things but don't really work/inspire use beyond simple tasks. Next the $100-$200 purposeful power blenders, we had one of these. It lasted 2 years mostly worked but it still had limitations and was annoying to clean. So it came down to Blendtec v Vitamix. We had not used either one. We picked the Blendtec, here are the post purchase thoughts: Positive: 1. Some say it is loud, it is but not abnormally loud for being a blender; 2. Very easy to use/clean; it works much better than cheaper blenders. 3. Modern feel, look, size. 4. Customer Service was very good so far. Negative: only one, some of the reviews for vitamix claimed smoother (i.e. less fiber) smoothies; I think this might be possible. The blendtec smoothie results are completely acceptable but I think there's a little room for improvement. If you are thinking about it, here's how I thought about it. If you want a magic machine you may be satisfied or you probably will be disappointed. If you want a superior blender which is easy to use then you will be satisfied.

What are the major differences between the Total series Vs. Designer series? Do they all fit under the cabinets? which one is more quiet?

Asked by: Marys
The major difference between these two models is the design. They will both fit under cabinets, and the Designer Series is slightly quieter than the Total Classic Series, but it's not very noticeable.

Could you please list the decibel range of the various models of blenders? Are the refurbished models louder than the new models? Are the more expensive models more quiet than the cheaper models? If so, by how much?

Asked by: BlenderCurious
This is difficult to generate as it depends on what you are using the blender for, and each blender sounds a little different. The Classic blenders are all equally loud, the Designer 675 and 625 are a little quieter and the Designer 725 is a little quieter still. All the differences between these models are pretty small until you get to the pro 800 which is drastically quieter than the others, since it has the sound enclosure.
