Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Blendtec The Blendtec is helping me to lead a healthier lifestyle and for that I am very grateful. I have a smoothie every morning for breakfast and have made various dips with this. My biggest problem with blenders before the BT was the blenders inability to handle ice. The BT does a great job with this and the smoothie never has a foamy consistency! It's also very easy to clean. Of all great things though about the blender though- there is one problem. I have the white version and the section that connects to the jar leaves a greasy substance on the base ....and it won't wipe off and has stained my blender base :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the blender but hate the jar I purchased my blender direct for Blendtec August 2013 to make smoothies and it does a great job. I opened and read the instructions (I'm geekie) but by Oct 2013 I had to have the Jar (wildside) replaced. It was under warranty so they sent out a new jar. Now it's almost August 2014 and I need to have the jar replaced again. For this product to be very pricey I would think they could product a jar that would last. I am glad it is under warranty but would hate to have to purchase a new jar every year. A lifetime warranty on the jar would better serve this blender I think I will do some research into the Vitamix to see if there is any known issues with there jar or anything else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best meal machine I have ever owned I love smoothies. My family also loves smoothies. In fact I have lost well over 100 lbs thanks in part to smoothies. Smoothies have helped me relearn how and what to eat, and also with my cravings. Now the weight did not come off over night. It took a few years. But I have kept the weight off in my maintenance mode for over 1.5 years. I was using 3 different Ninja blenders for most of my weight loss smoothies. I really don't care for Ninja blenders. But I got the first one as a gift. A few problems with Ninja blenders. THey burn out quickly if you use them every day, especially if you use them for more than one person. #2, the big blender jar does not make smoothies. It makes chunkies, with lots of foam. I do not care for foam. So I had to use the individual size smoothie cups with my Ninja kitchen system. They make fairly blended smoothies, but would not fully blend seeds, and small coarse things. They also left plenty of roughage from spinach and kale. It was good enough, I guess. After burning out my third Ninja in 2 years, I decided to see what other options were available. Google brought me to the Blendtech and Vitamix world. After reviewing seemingly hundreds of hours of information, and videos, I settled on the Blendtech 625. It was the most attractive, properly sized, color coordinated machine for my discerning kitchen. I have absolutely not been disappointed. It looks beautiful in my counter. It fits under my upper cabinet. It makes family sized smoothies in under 2 minutes. A family sized smoothies in the Ninja system took 20 minutes. It required the use of 4 individual cups. It required a lot of planning, sorting and stuffing. It also only created partially completed smoothies. The 625 is a toss and go (in proper layers) smoothie making machine. Every smoothie has come out perfect. I can also now use apple cores for added flavor and nutrition. My kids eat a lot of apples. They like cut apples. We had been tossing the cores. Toss no more. We save the cores in a covered dish in the fridge. Squirt a little lemon juice for color saving. (also note lemon juice in a fruit smoothie gives the smoothie the Jolly Rancher effect. If you like Jolly Ranchers, that lemon bite in a smoothies is just what the Dr ordered). So I figure in 10 years the Blendtech could pay for it's self in apple cores. Not to mention the landfill savings. (yes you could compost, if you did not have my HOA hawking your back yard) I really like this blender. It is expensive. All good things are expensive. Some of those things are worth the cost. I think the Blendtech Designer 625 has a value that exceeds my purchase price. I can not often say that. I hope to buy the twister jar in the future and get in to making nut butters, ice creams, and doughs and such. I'll update my review when that happens. Maybe even with a video. This machine is so attractive I really think pictures and videos tell the best story. I think a key to sustained weightloss is to create healthy sustainable habits. Smoothies added nutrition in to my diet I was not getting when I was 326 lbs. That added nutrition replaced bad calories with good calories. It pulled me out of metabolic syndrome. It helped my efforts in weight loss to finally have lasting results. Real sustainable Weight loss is not a simple math problem. It is not a simple, calories in calories out, move more eat less problem. Real sustainable weight loss is a nutrition problem. Nutrition is , calories in, but it is also a systems control issue. Your metabolism is powered by food, hormones, and effort. Great nutrition will put your system in balance so that you can achieve real sustainable goals. Now you could just eat healthy foods and do the same thing. But after 33 years of trying, I failed miserably at least over the long run. So I needed a tool. Smoothies are my tool, and my Blendtech Designer 625 is my secret weapon. In my photos you will see me at 326 lbs. You will notice my sons who are 2 and 3. In the second photo I am 213 lbs, and the 3 year old is 10. The 2 year old is now 9 and he is in class (so he is missing from this photo) and we have another 3 year old (no he is not a clone of the 10 year old, though he is nearly identical) I started this weight loss journey in 2009 and went up and down until August of 2014 ( I discovered smoothies), when I finally hit my goal in early 2015 and have maintained since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Blender I've owned this blender for almost two months, and I must say it is a great blender. It is extremely powerful, and the Wildside jar's design ensures excellent blending. I also purchased the Mini Twister Jar and it is great for small batches of things such as nut butters, spices and such. My wife wanted a Vitamix, but after a lot of research, I chose this one and am very glad I did. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good blender, does it all! I have owned this model for three months, it is my favorite of all the Blendtec models. I have owned the Total Classic 475, 575 (2) and the Signature Series, all within the last year. Love all of them but this one is my favorite. It is heavier then the others so it does not move as much when crushing ice. I gifted all the other models to my family and they love them. We are now a Blendtec family! Very enjoyable to eat healthy and share recipes with my family, Thanks Blendtec!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Health Investment! After going thru 2 traumatic surgeries, I embarked on a fitness journey to get my health and life back. This blender was a gift and a blessing. I love it so much I named him Steve. It deserves a name. It's too good to be anonymous lol. I use this blender every single day. I grind up protein powder and everything from hemp hearts, chia, flax to ice cubes in my smoothies and I don't have the chunks or griitiness like other blenders leave behind. It's pretty darn smooth. I've made almond milk, natural nut butters, ice treats and soup. I literally cud not live without Steve at this point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply AWESOME! I am a senior male almost two years into drastically changing my diet and eating habits - always looking for ways to better my kitchen 'tool chest', so on the advice of my daughter I purchased the 625 (in black) about a month ago. Where have you been all my life? LOL! I promptly went out and purchased the large twister jar as well - much to my daughter's chagrin. She had planned on getting one for me for Christmas. I simply told her I wasn't about to wait that long, which brought out a chuckle. I haven't been able to make use of this amazing machine as much as I'd like yet, but one of the things I HAVE used it for is nut milks. The absolute BEST is chocolate cashew milk. I can't believe how smo-o-o-o-th it is! Simply AWESOME! 'Store bought' stuff doesn't even come close! In fact, it doesn't even rate - in my humble opinion! I just wish I had more time to 'play' with it, but it'll come. Yeah the price is kinda high but the performance matches it, no problem!

How does this make HOT soup?

Asked by: momma Donna
The soup is heated simply by the speed and friction of the blade with the Soup cycle running on high for 90-180 seconds. You would typically start with mostly room temperature ingredients, and you can run a second cycle if you want the soup to be even hotter.

Please compare Blendtec 625 to Blendtec Total Blender.

Asked by: junebug98632
Like all our blenders, there are similarities and differences with them all. The 625 and Total Blender both have a 3.0-peak horsepower motor and 4 of the same preprogrammed cycles. The Total Blender has 2 more preprogrammed cycles than the 625 and they are made with different materials. You can learn more about both blender here: http://www.blendtec.com/blenders/designer-625 http://www.blendtec.com/blenders/total-blender-classic-series-factory-reconditioned

I just got this shipped to me, opened the box and aside from recipes /blending 101, I have no instructions how to use this, set the controls, know what the icons mean.... Really you charge $500 for this and then get economical with paper for instructions.

Asked by: Really no instructions
You can find a digital copy of the owner's manual here: http://cdn.blendtec.com/files/user_manuals/2014-Designer-Series-Manual.pdf.

I just bought a Model CTB1 625 in the color red at a discount.  When I looked at the serial #DD28PA04EA-24794 I noted it was manufactured in 2014.  Have there been any upgrades in this same blender that has been manufactured in 2016?  If so what are they.

Asked by: Larry72
There have not been any upgrades to the Designer 625 since it was launched in 2014.
