Blendtec Holds The Line On Pricing

At a time when equipment pricing continues to rise, Blendtec holds firm on wholesale pricing

OREM, UTAH, USA – February 27, 2009 – Blendtec, a global provider of high-performance blenders and dispensing equipment, today announced it does not plan to take a wholesale price increase for 2009. In fact, Blendtec has not taken an across the board price increase, as most other manufacturers have, in the last 6 years.

"At a time when everyone is struggling to control costs and maintain revenues, we have chosen to maintain wholesale pricing at levels we have kept constant for several years. We will do everything we can to control manufacturing costs and not pass on component and material increases to our customers," says Dan Grover, Blendtec’s Director of North American Sales.

Working in conjunction with its wholesale dealer network and key accounts, Blendtec continues to offer the best Made in USA value for the lowest possible prices. Instead of always accepting raw materials price increases or component goods increases, Blendtec looks for ways to innovate its products and use alternate materials where possible to keep costs down. It has been this type of forward thinking and cost awareness which has driven the company’s decisions since its inception.

In 2009 Blendtec will introduce several new products for various food service channels which will offer new opportunities and improved performance for its customers. Each product is designed and built with final costs in mind so customers receive the best possible value for their equipment investment

Skis!!

Thursday, 19 February 2009 09:13 by Matt Best

A few years ago while working at The Canyons, a local ski resort, I would have shuddered and maybe shed a few tears of the loss of a pair of skis. Sure, when you were done with a set you could turn them into some sort of eclectic lawn furniture or fence, but never blend them to oblivion. In fact, I wouldn't have believed it if someone would have told me a blender could turn a pair planks into sawdust, but that is exactly what Tom does in our latest episode of Will it Blend?.

This episode was a blast to shoot. Tom was really getting tired as he manhandled the ski into the carnivorous blades. Talking to him a few days after the shoot he said his hands were still sore from the abuse. I guess skis weren't designed for a blender.

Random fact--In the middle of the video you may notice something black go flying by. This was the plug that goes into the lid. Normally it is removed when blending hot liquids in order to alleviate any pressure that might develop, but in this case it popped off due to the violent blend. You also may have noticed we actually cut a slit into the lid so we could slide the ski in without taking the lid off. Remember, safety first.
